The U.S. State Department issued a worldwide security alert for American citizens traveling internationally during “LGBTQI+ Pride” in June. This advisory, released on Friday, urges increased vigilance due to concerns that Pride events could be targeted by “extremist groups.” However, the State Department and America’s federal law enforcement agencies not only deflect from acknowledging Islam as a threat to the LGBTQ community but appear to be actively engaged in concealing and covering up the issue.
In the travel advisory, the State Department emphasized the heightened potential for violence, urging U.S. citizens attending Pride celebrations abroad to “exercise increased caution” due to possible terror attacks, demonstrations, and other violent actions “against U.S. citizens and interests.”
“The Department of State is aware of the increased potential for foreign terrorist organization-inspired violence against LGBTQ persons and events,” the advisory states. Travelers are encouraged to remain alert in areas frequented by tourists and venues popular among the LGBTQ community. However, there is skepticism about the effectiveness of such alertness when the U.S. government refrains from acknowledging and confronting the religious ideology underpinning these threats, namely Islam.
A State Department spokesperson declined to comment on any specific threats but reaffirmed their so-called “commitment to the safety” of U.S. citizens abroad. “We take seriously our commitment to provide U.S. citizens with clear, timely, and reliable information about every country in the world so they can make informed travel decisions,” the spokesperson said.
This advisory follows a similarly irresponsible warning from the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security, which highlighted the risk posed by ‘foreign terrorist organizations (FTOs)’ targeting Pride celebrations both domestically and internationally. However, they failed to mention that these FTOs are Islamic. Additionally, the joint public service announcement noted that FTOs and their ‘supporters,’ carefully avoiding the term ‘Muslims,’ have a history of anti-LGBTQIA+ rhetoric and have previously targeted LGBTQIA+ events and venues.
The agencies referenced a February 2023 ISIS (Islamic State) message promoting anti-LGBTQ rhetoric and denouncing the growth of the LGBTQ community. They also noted the upcoming eighth anniversary of the Pulse nightclub attack in Orlando, Florida, where 49 people were killed. The advisory fails to recognize the Pulse nightclub attack as an Islamic attack. Omar Mateen, the jihadi, was motivated by Islam and received praise from ISIS following the attack.
Not only did the FBI and Homeland Security fail to identify the real threat behind the Pusle Jihad attack, but Joe Biden and other Democrat leaders did as well. They deliberately manipulated the Pulse nightclub narrative for political purposes, pushing the false claim that the jihad attack was merely a hate crime against the LGBTQ community and had nothing to do with Islam. Furthermore, they have continuously used this horrific ISIS jihad attack to try to strip law-abiding gun owners of their right to protect themselves from further attacks.
Similarly, last year in Vienna, Austria, there was the arrest of three Muslim migrant ISIS sympathizers who plotted to attack the city’s annual Pride Parade. Once again, the media tried to downplay the Muslims’ religious Islamic motivation. These arrests highlight the ongoing threats facing the LGBTQ community from Islamic jihadis.
Omar Mateen in Florida and the Jihadis in Austria’s treatment and targeting of the LGBTQ community is consistent with their Islamic faith, doctrine, and their Prophet’s example. Islamic scripture and law teach that homosexuality is considered a vile form of fornication, punishable by death. A hadith depicts Muhammad specifying the punishment for homosexual activity: “Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Lut (Lot), execute the one who does it and the one to whom it is done.”
In many predominantly Muslim countries from which migrants originate, homosexuality is punishable by death, and practicing or publicly defending it is strictly forbidden. Despite the threat Islam poses to the LGBTQ community, many gay rights advocates, left-wing politicians, and the media continue to remain silent about Islamic hatred of homosexuals. Furthermore, their refusal to acknowledge the threat of Islamic migration to Western nations continues to welcome jihadis, as seen in Austria, allowing them to target vulnerable communities and all non-Muslims.
Rather than unequivocally denouncing Islam’s deadly hatred towards the LGBTQ community and non-Muslims, numerous Western governments and left-wing media outlets choose to downplay, deflect, or dismiss incidents and threats as unrelated to Islam. They often perpetuate a narrative that anti-LGBTQ sentiments originate solely from white individuals, predominantly males. They assert that such incidents are isolated and do not reflect Islam’s “true” nature, sanitizing and reshaping the ideology for Western consumption. This neglect of Islamic doctrinal hostility towards homosexuals jeopardizes vulnerable communities and places non-Muslims at risk.
The U.S. State Department, Homeland Security, and FBI issue alerts without truly addressing the threat’s nature, seeming more interested in procedural compliance than in the safety of the LGBTQ+ community. If genuinely concerned, they would educate the public about the real dangers posed by Islam. Their failure to recognize this threat not only shows negligence but also puts American lives at risk, especially those of vulnerable sexual minorities. By ignoring Islam’s role in these attacks and threats, they aid terrorists, favoring political correctness over citizen protection. Americans must demand accountability and decisive action from their leaders to prioritize safety over appeasement.
