Last week, the prosecution wrapped up its case against Trump.
The defense, however, is not expected to call nearly as many witnesses as the prosecution, which called a total of 20 witnesses.
With any luck, this case could be turned over to the jury this week for a verdict.
Let’s Wrap It Up
The prosecution’s star witness was its last witness… Michael Cohen.
Early in the week, the media was raving about his testimony, but that all started to change when defense attorney Todd Blanche unleashed and exposed Cohen.
There were numerous lies told by Cohen, and Blanche backed Cohen into a corner, making him look like a fool in the process.
It was so bad, that even Anderson Cooper from CNN admitted that Cohen sounded like someone who was just making things up as he was going along.
The big variable here is if Trump decides to take the stand, which he really should not do.
Sorry to upset Trump supporters who want to see him testify, but Trump is a horrible witness.
The biggest challenge for Trump would be to stay on point and not engage in long political rants, as he did in the Letitia James case.
Right now, I believe the defense has done an amazing job for Trump, so don’t leave them with a last impression of an angry man whose rants could turn their opinion around.
Even if Trump loses this case, he will more than likely win or have any judgment against him reduced on appeal.
All he needs to do is allow his attorneys to do their thing and keep his mouth shut.
This setup reminds me of “A Few Good Men,” when Tom Cruise’s character had an exceptional cross. Then, when the re-direct was taking place, Demi Moore popped up and made a repeated objection that almost lost the case.
You are ahead, Mr. Trump, so stay seated and keep it that way.
