Target has just announced significant price reductions on thousands of everyday products. This news arrives shortly after Walmart’s similar announcement of cuts on 7,000 items.
The reductions at Target include essentials like milk, meat, bread, and produce, as well as non-food items such as diapers and pet food. The announcement was made in a press release dated Monday, May 20.
Already, Target has reduced prices on 1,500 items, with plans for more cuts. “We know consumers are feeling pressured to make the most of their budget, and Target is here to help them save more,” said Rick Gomez, Target’s executive vice president.
Gomez added, “Our teams work hard to deliver great value every day, and these new lower prices across thousands of items will add up to additional big savings.”
With inflation continuing, Target joins other companies in cutting prices. As Memorial Day approaches, customers will see discounts on items like frozen chicken breasts and sports drinks.
The discounts mainly affect Target’s own brands, including Good & Gather and Everspring. These lowered prices will be clearly marked in stores and online.
Stores from Phoenix to Minneapolis to New Orleans to Baltimore will feature these new, lower prices. Some notable price changes include Good & Gather Butter dropping to $3.79 from $3.99, Thomas’ Plain Bagels to $3.79 from $4.19, and Huggies Baby Wipes to $.99 from $1.19.
