President Joe Biden’s victory in the 2020 presidential election was supposedly a testament to his popularity, with him receiving over 81 million votes. This is a significant contrast to the 2008 election, where Barack Obama, the first black president, received nearly 12 million fewer votes.
Of course, the 2020 election was marred by the so-called pandemic, which resulted in a very different approach to how Americans voted.
Over the weekend, Biden traveled to Atlanta, Ga., to deliver the commencement speech at Morehouse College, a private historically black, liberal arts college for men. Despite being the most popular president in American history, according to his record-breaking votes, the turnout of supporters was modest, with only a smattering of supporters managing to catch a glimpse of the motorcade.
How can this be? The RNC Research team asked a related question while sharing the footage, “If a presidential motorcade passes through town but absolutely nobody cares — did it really pass through town?”

By the way, the president’s fact-challenged message of inspiration was to tell the black graduates that they are victims and that America hates them.
“It’s natural to wonder if democracy you hear about actually works for you,” Biden said. “What is democracy if black men are being killed in the street? What is democracy if a trail of broken promises still leaves black communities behind? What is democracy if you have to be 10 times better than anyone else to get a fair shot? And most of all, what does it mean, as we’ve heard before, to be a black man who loves his country even if it doesn’t love him back in equal measure?”
Biden held a fundraiser in the affluent Atlanta neighborhood of Buckhead on Saturday, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, telling supporters, “If you ever doubt the power of the vote, I say come to Georgia. You are the reason I won. Georgia is the reason I’m president right now.”
But that did not translate into a greeting worthy of a man who we’re told received 81 million votes.
Social media users had fun mocking the sad display… here’s a quick sampling of responses to the story, as seen on X:
