The man who assaulted Nancy Pelosi’s husband, David DePape, was sentenced to 30 years of imprisonment after the former House speaker urged the judge to hand him a “very long” sentence.
DePape, in October 2022, broke into Pelosi’s home in San Francisco and attacked Paul Pelosi with a hammer.
The suspect was later found guilty of kidnapping and assault on a family member of a public official.
DePape planned to kidnap the former House speaker and force her to admit that there was indeed a massive network of government agencies conspiring to control the state. However, his plan flopped when he discovered that Nancy was out of her residence. So he turned to her husband and bludgeoned his skull and injured his arms and legs.
Paul, during his testimony, narrated the events and said, “The door opened, and a very large man came in with a hammer in one hand and some ties in the other.”
“‘Where’s Nancy?’ as I think that woke me up,” Pelosi continued.
“I’m asleep, and he bursts in the door, and that woke me up.”
Nancy’s husband said he did not hear the suspect enter their house but managed to reach 911 before DePape snatched the phone.
Police authorities reported that they witnessed the suspect hitting Paul with his hammer and were able to capture the entire incident through their body cameras.
For DePape, he confessed to the crime and somehow felt sorry for injuring Paul, who was not part of his target.
He further said that he planned to abduct Nancy, wear a costume, and interview her on how the Russians rigged the 2016 election.
He added that he only beat Paul because Nancy was not home, ultimately destroying his plot.
“When he was on the ground breathing, I was really scared for his life,” DePape told the jury.
“And later in the hospital, I felt really bad for him because we had a really good rapport and things were going good until the last second.”
DePape’s lawyers added that he was coming from watching conspiracy theories surrounding Hunter Biden, Tom Hanks, and George Soros, and an interview with a professor at the University of Michigan.
Nicholas Pagnotta, the Raging Patriot’s co-founder, railed at the entire Pelosi family drama and hit Nancy Pelosi’s hypocrisy.
Pagnotta said, “Isn’t it crazy how Democrats refuse to prosecute criminals when they attack and terrorize the average American, but as soon as that crime shows up at the door of a Democrat politician, they attack them with every tool at their disposal?”
It was also evident when Pelosi got two of her constituents arrested after refusing to talk with them. According to members of CODEPINK, an anti-war feminist organization, they have been requesting a meeting with her for months, but all their pleas went on deaf ears.
