CNN is looking to make the best of its bagging of the rights to host the first of the two debates between President Joe Biden and presumptive GOP nominee Donald J. Trump, and the network just made a big announcement.
According to the self-proclaimed “most trusted name in news,” the June 27 debate between the two leaders will be made available to other cable and news networks looking to simulcast the event, giving wide exposure to the debate which will be held under conditions that are disproportionately favorable to Biden.
A new debate development: @CNN will make its Biden/Trump face-off on June 27 “available for simulcast on any U.S. network with a news division that wants it,” AP’s @dbauder reports https://t.co/ruZGEvRsDe

“The CNN Presidential Debate will air live on CNN, CNN International, CNN en Español, CNN Max and stream without a cable login on CNN.com. CNN will make the debate available to simulcast on additional broadcast and cable news networks in the United States,” the network said in a press release.
“To qualify for participation, candidates must fulfill the requirements outlined in Article II, Section 1 of the Constitution of the United States; file a Statement of Candidacy with the Federal Election Commission; a candidate’s name must appear on a sufficient number of state ballots to reach the 270 electoral vote threshold to win the presidency prior to the eligibility deadline; agree to accept the rules and format of the debate; and receive at least 15% in four separate national polls of registered or likely voters that meet CNN’s standards for reporting,” the statement read.
The debate will be moderated by anchors Jake Tapper and Dana Bash, putting two of the network’s most biased Trump haters in charge of the event which will take place in Atlanta, a high-stakes showdown for Biden who is losing ground in the polls and hopes to turn things around.
I’ve received and accepted an invitation from @CNN for a debate on June 27th. Over to you, Donald. As you said: anywhere, any time, any place.

The expectations are so low for the bumbling geriatric Democrat that all he would have to do would be to show up for the media to declare it a victory for him. But having the debate conducted under his rules including no audience and the muting of Trump’s mic to kneecap him has all the makings of a setup.
Unfortunately, it’s a setup that Trump agreed to, understandably eager to get a piece of Biden whose corrupt minions have been waging a lawfare campaign against him in what the former president has described as election interference.
On Friday, Trump called for Biden to be drug tested before the debate.
“I just want to debate this guy, but you know – and I’m gonna demand a drug test too, by the way,” Trump said in remarks to Republicans at an event in St. Paul, Minn., a deep blue state that he has vowed to be competitive in.
“I am. No, I really am. I don’t want him coming in like the State of the Union. He was high as a kite,” he added. “We’re going to demand a drug test.”
