In a revealing twist for the 2024 presidential election, polls show “Never Biden” voters are more common than “Never Trumpers.”
In a recent poll 52% of respondents said they would never vote for President Joe Biden, while 46% said the same for former President Donald Trump. This flips the narrative from the 2020 election, which saw the opposite be true. It’s another sliver of evidence that Trump has an edge over Biden in November.
Three of four such polls since November have more “Never Biden” voters than “Never Trump” voters. Voters have had a more favorable view of Trump’s presidency since Biden took office, and that appears to be manifesting in the polls.
The “Never Trump” movement originally began in 2015, as Trump built momentum toward his eventual 2016 Republican presidential nomination, with many conservatives vowing to never support him.
That group of Republicans united behind former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley in 2024, and primary voters are still casting votes for her despite Trump’s clinching of the Republican nomination. Recently, Haley grabbed 21.3% of the vote away from Trump in Maryland’s primary this month.
