Former New York City mayor and ardent Trump supporter Rudy Giuliani was served notice of his Arizona indictment over an alleged plot to overturn the 2020 election, by state officials at his 80th birthday party in Palm Beach.
Some guests at the party cried and screamed as Giuliani was served while those at the party said officials stormed the party “like it was Normandy,” according to the New York Post.
“While crime in Arizona is at an all-time high the Arizona Secretary of State’s office felt it was a good use of resources to send multiple agents across the country to storm an 80th birthday party like it was Normandy,” Caroline Wren, a top GOP consultant who hosted the birthday party at her home, said.
Giuliani is one of 18 involved in the Arizona case alleging a “fake electors” plot and officials had been having trouble locating him to serve the indictment, until his Friday party.
The fake electors plot originated from some electors’ forgery of documents that claimed Trump won the 2020 election.
Giuliani and others are charged with felony counts, including conspiracy, forgery and fraud.
Trump strategists Steve Bannon and Roger Stone and as many as 200 guests were at Giuliani’s party.
