House Committee goes full-on mean girls. Good grief, these women who participated in this mess on display for the American people need a time-out corner. Their behavior is beyond embarrassing.
Marjorie Taylor Greene (MTG), Jasmine Crockett, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) get into a screaming match that might rival a rage ritual.
The House Oversight Committee convened late evening for a contempt hearing regarding Attorney General Merrick Garland. Still, you wouldn’t know it from the media clips showing the three women hurling juvenile jabs at each other.
Focus turned from Merrick Garland to fake eyelashes, baby girls, and bleach blonde, butch-built bodies. Or something like that.

How It Started
It all started with MTG asking who there that evening were clients of Judge Merchan’s daughter, Loren Merchan. <cough>Goldman<cough>

Now, while I agree that most of the people in Congress are more than likely corrupt, perhaps this wasn’t the time to call it out, Marjorie.
“I’d like to know if any Democrats on the committee are employing Judge [Juan] Merchan’s daughter?” Ms Greene said on Thursday evening, concerning the judge who is overseeing Donald Trump’s hush money trial.
“Please tell me what that has to do with Merrick Garland?” Ms Crockett replied. – The Independent
The blathering idiocy that followed was embarrassing, especially for women. Maybe MTG missed her protein shake or something and was running low on glucose due to the meeting running later than scheduled. But why would you want to distract from this particular hearing with this sort of theater?
Fox 5 in Washington DC breaks down the play-by-play.
The Victory Girls have had harsh words regarding Marjorie Taylor Green before. And while this Victory Girl tried to stay away from it myself, or trying to defend her, this time I’m gonna have to at least ask, “Why Marjorie, why?”
She distracted from the point of the committee convening, which was to hold Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress.
The pair of panels are set to vote on holding Garland in contempt after the attorney general refused to hand over the audio recording of President Biden’s interview with special counsel Robert Hur as part of his classified documents probe.
The panels already have a transcript of the interview, and while the subject matter has little to no overlap with its impeachment probe, the GOP has nonetheless contended the audio files could have significance for its investigation, accusing Garland of having “impeded the Committees’ impeachment inquiry.” – The Hill
Maybe MTG didn’t see the importance of this hearing, seeing as how the committee already has the transcripts, or perhaps she just wanted to go home for the evening, or maybe she just wasn’t prepared? I can’t sit here and pretend I know what was in her head then.
The committee eventually voted to proceed with holding Merrick Garland in contempt. Now, the full House will vote on it next.
But what transpired after her initial interruption was pure chaos and totally unnecessary. And did I already say embarrassing?
Even Lauren Boebert couldn’t side with MTG.
The madness culminated Thursday night with a vote on whether or not to allow Greene to continue speaking during the hearing, which the panel ultimately granted in a 22-20 vote. Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Colo.) — who has butted heads with Greene in the past — crossed party lines to vote against allowing the Georgia lawmaker to proceed during the hearing. Boebert was sitting two seats away from Greene during the vote. – The Hill
I’m sorry, Marjorie. You don’t get my support at this time. Instead of bringing attention to real problems and issues like Merrick Garland, I am blogging about ridiculous behavior by elected members of Congress. Grow up and do the job, or you’ll be voted out.
