Ron DeSantis does not back down from a big fight.
He went into the lion’s den and challenged the woke outrage mob.
And Ron DeSantis caused college protestors to melt down after he dropped this truth bomb.
Ron DeSantis travels to college campus to slam woke protestors
College campuses across the nation have seen encampments pop up from left-wing students and outside agitators protesting for Palestine in the Israel-Hamas war.
These protestors have forced classes and graduations to be canceled, threatened students, and taken over buildings.
Weak college administrators have lost control of the situation and put the mob in charge.
Florida has avoided the problems plaguing the rest of the country on its college campuses by spelling out clear consequences for crossing the line.
That is why Florida Governor Ron DeSantis traveled to the University of Florida in Gainesville to lay down the law.
He made it clear that the state would not tolerate the college being disrupted by unruly protestors.
DeSantis made his remarks at a location on the University of Florida’s campus where protestors had tried to set up encampments.
The Florida Governor said that pro-Palestinian protestors ignored the terrorism by Hamas on October 7.
“I’m sure they were very upset about that — oh no, they weren’t,” DeSantis said sarcastically. “That’s right, they didn’t care about that. They were completely fine with those massacres happening, and they had no concern about that.”
Protestors were chanting in the background of his speech.
“There was an attempt to set up an encampment last week. And I know that we’ve seen this throughout the rest of the country where this has kind of become a common occurrence,” DeSantis stated. “Well, we don’t do that here in the state of Florida, and so, they did have an encampment, and it lasted about a few minutes.”
The University of Florida quickly shut down the encampment and issued a statement proclaiming that the school was not a “daycare.”
“In the state of Florida, you do not have a right to commandeer property,” DeSantis explained. “You don’t have a right to go take over parts of the university. You don’t have a right to go after other students based on their ethnicity. And we’re gonna ensure that that’s upheld in the state of Florida.”
Ron DeSantis slams the failure of colleges to keep protestors in line
DeSantis pointed out that the problems being seen in other states on college campuses were from a failure of leadership.
“We’ve seen a lot of failures of leadership, we’ve seen some of these schools get overrun, that is not happening here in the state of Florida,” DeSantis said.
He explained that the protestors had expanded beyond the Middle Eastern conflict into an attack on American values.
“Even in New York City, you have a pro-Hamas people, they go to the World War I memorial and burn the American flag — just disrespectful conduct,” DeSantis said.
Florida’s college campuses are peaceful because the state stands for law and order while many areas of the country are engulfed in chaos.
