Former President Donald Trump has given out a hint regarding where his youngest son, Barron, plans to study after graduating high school.
Speaking at an event at Mar-a-Lago on Wednesday, May 9th, the former president signaled that Barron will be attending college — but likely not one of the colleges previously mentioned.
“Right now, he’s doing a great job,” the former president said, according to Newsweek. “He has great marks. He’s going to be going to college soon. And we’re looking at some colleges that are different [than] they were two months ago.”
Barron is scheduled to graduate from Oxbridge Academy in Palm Beach this Friday. The former president is expected to attend after the judge presiding over his hush money allowed him to do so.
“The pricey academy, established in 2011 by the youngest of the billionaire Koch brothers, William I. Koch, costs a whopping $41,500 a year for high schoolers not on scholarship,” according to The Daily Beast. “Its recent graduates have been accepted into some of the nation’s top schools, including Northwestern, UCLA, Boston University, Cornell, and Vanderbilt.”
This comes months after Trump told podcast host Megyn Kelly last September that Barron was “thinking about” attending The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, which is Trump’s alma mater.
This also comes less than a month after The Daily Beast ran a story based on anonymous sources claiming Barron would be attending New York University.
“We hear that NYU is at the top of his list,” the report read. “The school is No. 35 on the U.S. News and World Report rankings, three miles from Trump Tower, and home to the John A. Paulson Center, which was built with a $100 million gift from the hedge-fund billionaire.”
“Tuition and fees for a 2024 freshman comes to $93,000—which Trump can probably afford, even with that $83 million judgment in his civil fraud case hanging over his head,” the report continues.
However, The Daily Beast admitted that neither Trump’s camp nor the school would confirm this.
Meanwhile, the online betting portal Bovada released odds last September regarding whether Barron might attend college. The odds were based a lot on his height and potential for playing basketball.
“It’s unclear if the younger Trump is even an athlete, but Bovada, nevertheless, tabbed St. John’s and Miami (+300) the odds-on co-favorites to land the potential college hoopster’s services,” the Staten Island Advance reported at the time.
“Meanwhile, defending national champion UConn and Florida State (+500) check in just behind the favorites, while Michigan State (+700) and Kentucky (+850) lurk nearby,” the report continued.

There’s also been talk that Barron might pursue a political career. This talk has been backed by a report from the Daily Mail, which spoke with an insider who revealed that Barron boasts deep political aspirations.
“Barron is handsome, tall — taller even than his father — and very knowledgeable for someone his age,” the source said. “He’s also far more politically interested than people realize.”
“I see all the attributes of a future president if he has the appetite for it. And why not? He has the Trump genes,” the insider added.
Barron, who turned 18 in March, is also reportedly increasingly interested in working more officially on his father’s reelection campaign like his other siblings, including Donald Trump Jr. and Ivanka.
As for his mother, Melania, she’s reportedly ready to give him some room to be his own man.
“While he was still a minor she zealously protected him and we knew very little about the details of his daily life,” the insider said. “I think he’s allowed to make more decisions for himself now. He can invite anyone to dinner he wishes. He’s slowly becoming more public.”

Meanwhile, as he’s gained more autonomy, Barron has used it to “schmooze” high-profile conservatives, including podcaster Patrick Bet-David, who was left impressed after a dinner at Mar-a-Lago last month.
“For an hour and a half we just watched Barron run dinner with stories, entertainment — oh my God — everything,” he said recently on his show.
He went on to, one, describe Barron as “sharp, funny, sarcastic, tough – not weak,” and two, praise him for his quality manners and humility.”
So tough that he pretty much dared his father’s boisterous enemies to aim their fire at him, saying, “It’s officially fair game to come after me. I don’t care. Good, do it. They’ve gone and done it to every kid.”
