Barron Trump, who will graduate from high school on May 17, will be among the 41 at-large delegates from Florida for the upcoming GOP convention, where the Republican Party officially nominates his father, Donald Trump, as its presidential candidate.
NBC News was the first to publish the story.
Barron was mostly shielded from political controversy. However, as he turned 18 last March, he is now set to join his siblings, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump, and Tiffany, as delegates to the national gathering, which will take place in Milwaukee from July 15 to July 18.
“We are fortunate to have a great group of grassroots leaders, elected officials, and members of the Trump family working together as part of the Florida delegation to the 2024 Republican National Convention,” remarked Evan Power, Republican Party of Florida chairman.
“The RPOF is ready for a great convention in Milwaukee, but more importantly, we are excited as we continue to lay the groundwork in Florida for success. Mark my words, we are going to win, and we will win big in November!” Power added.
The inclusion of President Trump’s children as delegates reflects how his family supports the president and Republican politics, especially in Florida. His oldest daughter, Ivanka, was his only child who was not on the list. She had earlier excused herself from the political arena and expressed that her focus now is on caring for her children.
Other at-large delegates were Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis, state Commissioner of Agriculture Wilton Simpson, state Attorney General Ashley Moody, former state Attorney General Pam Bondi, state Rep. Randy Fine, U.S. Ambassador to the Organization of American States Carlos Trujillo, and Trump associate Kimberly Guilfoyle.
Meanwhile, Judge Juan Merchan, who was presiding over the bogus hush money trial against Trump, postponed the hearing to allow the former president to attend his graduation rites at Oxbridge Academy, a private school near Mar-a-Lago.
Social media users praised Barron Trump’s proactiveness toward the Republican Party and remarked that President Trump’s youngest son was the product of good parenting.
Another X user said, “This young man was raised right, just like his siblings, same can’t be said for #Hunter.”
Others could not help but wonder if Barron also hopes to run as president in the future.
“What does Papa Trump say about it?” “It’s cute…”
He looks so proud of him,” wrote @MJTruthUltra
