Together with University of Chicago Free and the University of Chicago Free Speech Alliance, the Chicago Thinker invites members of the University of Chicago community to send us a 10-second video on why free speech is important to you.
Our Chicago Principles state that “the University has a solemn responsibility not only to promote a lively and fearless freedom of debate and deliberation, but also to protect that freedom when others attempt to restrict it.”
Recent events on campus were enough to remind us all just how delicate that freedom is.
We will be compiling videos from across the University community (including students, faculty, alumni, parents, staff, etc.) into a collage which we will present to the administration and post online ahead of Alumni Weekend on May 18.
University of Chicago must always be the home of free speech!
Please submit your clip here by Wednesday, May 15.
