The Republican Party of Florida has selected Barron Trump to serve as one of the state’s at-large delegates at the Republican National Convention.
Barron Trump, the youngest son of former President Donald Trump, is making his initial foray into politics as he is on the cusp of graduating from high school in mid-May, as first reported by NBC News.
He will share the delegation duties with his older half-brothers, Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, half-sister Tiffany, and Kimberly Guilfoyle, who is engaged to marry Donald Jr.
“We have a great delegation of grassroots leaders, elected officials and even Trump family members,” Florida Republican chairman Evan Power said, according to The Daily Caller. “Florida is continuing to have a great convention team, but more importantly we are preparing to win Florida and win it big.”
The New York State Supreme Court Justice Juan Merchan has granted permission to the former president to attend Barron’s graduation ceremony set for May 17. This decision comes amidst a trial overseen by Judge Merchan, initiated by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, who has charged Donald Trump with falsifying business records to conceal a payment of $130,000 to former porn actress, Stormy Daniels.
Eric Trump, who holds the role of the delegation chairman, was part of a discussion with Power and other party leaders on Wednesday night, as noted by NBC News. Additionally, as of March, Eric’s wife, Lara, has assumed the role of co-chair of the Republican National Committee, following Ronna McDaniel’s exit. Michael Whatley has been appointed as the chair.
Several of Trump’s staunch supporters have also been appointed as at-large delegates, including former state Attorney General Pam Bondi and adviser Sergio Gor. Donald Trump has previously won Florida in two presidential elections, including a three-point victory during his 2020 reelection campaign. The state party has continued its support for him while facing a challenge from their own Governor Ron DeSantis, nicknamed “Ron DeSanctimonious” by his triumphant opponent in the 2024 Republican primary.
In spite of, or perhaps because of, the mystery surrounding the forty-fifth U.S. President’s youngest son, Barron has become an object of fascination for both the right and left. Very little is known about Barron’s personality, likely a result of his mother Melania’s efforts to shield him from media attention, but this has not prevented some from projecting their political dreams onto the eighteen-year-old scion.
“The idea of Barron Trump as a conniving, neurodivergent boy genius has persisted… so perhaps it was only a matter of time before it collided head-on with the online right’s deep and abiding dream: that of finding an ‘American Caesar,’” writes River Page in an article for The Free Press.

“Barron would make a perfect Caesar, says the online right, because of his ‘physiognomy‘: his eyes are what internet race scientists call A50s, a deep blue color reserved for “philosophers, kings, explorers, and inventors,” according to a chart somebody on 4chan made half a decade ago. Also, his profile looks a bit like a statue of Alexander the Great, or someone on a Roman coin. And then there’s his massive height. Others who aspire to power “will always look like peasants next to him,” notes one typical tweet,” Page continues, using an anachronistic term for a post on X.
Though Barron’s personality and ambitions have heretofore been shrouded in mystery, mutterings about the tall Trump scion have begun to emerge more recently. Insiders reported to the Daily Mail that Barron has expressed his own political ambitions. Patrick Bet-David, the founder of the Valuetainment YouTube channel, also recently shared his of the former President’s son, calling Barron the “[m]ost interesting 18 year old I’ve met.”
The more I spend time with Baron Trump, the more impressed I am with him.

Barron’s father has also reacted to his son’s debut into politics, calling it “very cute” and acclaiming Barron for his intelligence.

DJT knew Barron just turned 18 years old on Mar 20th, but Why did DJT still say Barron is 17? But why?
