Judge Merchan has hit Trump with 10 violations of the gag order that was imposed against him during the hush-money trial.
During the testimony of Stormy Daniels, Trump was audibly cursing and shaking his head, which created more concern from Merchan regarding Trump’s conduct during this trial.
With Merchan having previously discussed possibly jailing Trump, New York City Mayor Eric Adams is now stating that Riker’s Island will be ready for Trump if that happens.
Ready and Waiting
Trump is literally one more gag order violation away from heading to jail.
As a matter of fact, if you ask me, I think Trump wants to be ordered to jail to help his fundraising situation.
He has already stated that he will gladly go to protect his First Amendment rights, and Judge Merchan appears ready to grant his wish.
To that point, a reporter recently asked Mayor Adams, “At President Trump’s trial, they were talking about how he might end up in jail if he continues to violate these court orders. Is Rikers prepared for that?”
Adams responded, “Our amazing commissioner, she is prepared for whatever comes on Rikers Island, and I’m pretty sure she would be prepared to manage and deal with the situation.”
Adams was referring to New York City Department of Corrections Commissioner Lynelle Maginley-Liddie.
Adams continued, “As you see what’s happening with Harvey Weinstein, we have to adjust.
“You know in this business, particularly around law enforcement, we have to adjust whatever comes our way.
“But, you know, we don’t want to deal with the hypothetical, but they’re professionals, they’ll be ready.”
The one question I continue to ask that has not been answered yet is what happens to Trump’s Secret Service protection if he is ordered to jail?
Will Trump continue to be protected in prison, put in solitary, or would he be left unprotected in gen pop?
