Most everyone will experience road rage at some point in their lives.
Some instances of road rage turn violent.
But one Florida man gave saucy a new meaning with this road rage incident that landed him in jail.
Road rage is the term used to describe dangerous and aggressive driving behaviors.
It is a common daily occurrence in cities across the country.
And the number of violent road rage incidents increases every year.
According to Consumer Affairs, “approximately 92 percent of Americans report witnessing road rage at least once over the past year.”
An amazing 89 percent claim to have been a victim of road rage.
Heavy traffic is the leading cause of road rage, followed by already feeling stressed, running late, and feeling tired.
Most of the time road rage amounts to flipping the other driver off, honking the horn, and yelling expletives out the window.
But six percent of road rage incidents result in a physical altercation between drivers.
SafeMotorist reports that “12,610 injuries and 218 murders have been attributed to road rage over a seven-year period in the United States.”
A very strange incident of road rage recently occurred in St. Petersburg, Florida.
Nolan Goins, 46, grew outraged over another driver’s “glaring headlights” and decided to do something about it.
Goins tossed pasta with sauce out of his passenger window and hit the man with the glaring headlights.
“Goins allegedly chucked pasta with sauce through his passenger window, and it hit a man who was driving,” Fox35 reported. “He escaped the pasta attack unscathed and without injuries, though probably a bit sauce-stained on his arm, legs and torso, according to the affidavit.”
Police later tracked down Goins and discovered his right sleeve was covered with food stains from pasta.
“The defendant threw food (pasta w/ sauce) from the passenger seat of his vehicle striking the victim through his open window as he operated his vehicle,” a sheriff’s deputy reported.
Goins was charged with battery and booked into the county jail, but was released on a $1,000 bond.
The police report did not identify the type of pasta or sauce Goins used to take out his road rage on the victim.
But this incident gave saucy a whole new meaning.
