I just cannot imagine being a State Department or staff communications department employee with Joe Biden in office.
Over the last three years, the man has done more to wreck foreign relations with allies than anyone in modern history.
He did it again this week, calling Japan, among other nations, “Xenophobic.”
You Cannot Say That
Biden was touting his economic agenda, placing all the glory on his success on migrants.
I would imagine mouths were wide open in our diplomatic corps when Biden stated, “Why is China stalling so badly economically? Why is Japan having trouble? Why is Russia? Why is India? Because they’re xenophobic.”
Then he wanted to be sure that everyone knew he was serious, adding, “They don’t want immigrants. Immigrants are what makes us strong. Not a joke. That’s not hyperbole, because we have an influx of workers who want to be here and want to contribute.”
Several Japanese lawmakers have already responded to the statement.
For example, the leader of the right-wing populist Sansei Party, Sohei Kamiya, stated, “It’s not that we’re xenophobic, we are being cautious after seeing your failures.
“You are meddling too much in our internal affairs.”
Karine Jean-Pierre tried to spin this when asked about it by the media, stating, “Look. Here is what I am saying. He was talking about who we are as a country. Right?
“He was talking about the importance about being a country of immigrants, especially as you see the attacks that we have seen very recently in the last couple of years, on those attacks on immigrants in particular.
“And so it is important for us to remember that we are a country of immigrants.”
Everyone knows the United States is a country of immigrants, but that is not all Biden said. He clearly made racist accusations against some of our biggest and most powerful allies.
He can now add Japan and India to a list that also includes Israel as allies that Joe Biden has managed to insult and upset while in office.
But the White House and media will continue to spin away, doing their best to convince the American people that there is nothing to see here… this is just Joe being Joe.
