Apple may find itself looking over its shoulder amid online banter about billionaire entrepreneur Elon Muck pursuing an X Phone.
The popular Elon Musk parody account on X got things rolling by asking followers if they would buy a phone produced by the social media platform X, which Musk owns.
“Would you buy the Phone? You entirely own your data, completely private and 100% secure. Free Starlink. Free X Premium,” the account tweeted.

While there’s plenty of skepticism about “100% secure,” given the bold aspirations of today’s Deep State, there’s nothing to suggest that there will be an X Phone anytime soon.
On the other hand, there have been healthier rumors about a phone being put out by Telsa, which Musk also owns.
“There’s speculation about a potential Tesla phone, rumored to be called Model Pi or P. However, after researching all the rumors and using some common sense, I’m convinced the evidence isn’t there. Still, it’s interesting to consider what a smartphone from this highly successful automaker might look like,” Livewire’s Tim Fisher wrote back in March.
Musk let it be known in 2022 amid speculation that Apple and Google may boot Twitter from their app stores that he would consider making “an alternative phone” under the right circumstances. This was back when the left was coming to grips with the reality that they had lost a valuable platform and that — egad! — free speech may make a comeback.
“I certainly hope it does not come to that, but, yes, if there is no other choice, I will make an alternative phone,” he tweeted.

Here’s a sampling of responses to the story from the social media platform X:
Throw in a cybertruck and I’m in

I’d buy one, I already pay for Premium Plus and I have Starlink

No I would not. Reason: later you will change your mind and allow Israeli government to take control of the phones you sold, just like the X.

I would switch over from iPhone admittedly with no thinking. Especially if the rumours are true about Apple using Google AI on their future phones.

Compelling. Yes, if you hire the best UX designers in the world and execute on it.

Yes. I pray @elonmusk assembles a team to work on X phone ASAP! It just makes sense especially with Starlink and xAI. We have not had significant improvement since the first iPhone.
