Right now, some MAGA members of Congress are pushing the idea that the “uniparty” has taken over Congress.
They mean that, in effect, political lines are no longer drawn among members of Congress.
Save the Freedom Caucus, everyone seems to be on the same page, which is one of the reasons that Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) wants to push forward with her motion to vacate against Johnson.
Expose Them
Democrat leadership has already come forward to state that it would put down any effort to remove Johnson as Speaker.
Greene has only a handful of Republicans that will join her effort, but that is all that Rep. Gaetz (R-FL) had when he had McCarthy removed.
The difference being that Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) got the entire Democrat caucus behind the effort to remove McCarthy.
Johnson has given Democrats everything they wanted even though the GOP holds the majority, so it is not in their best interests to remove him if they want to continue passing legislation.
That, however, is exactly the point that Greene is making.
One of Greene’s supporters with the motion to vacate is Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), who also commented regarding the Democrats backing Johnson, posting on X…
.@RepMTG and I will hold a press conference tomorrow at the Capitol triangle. Hakeem Jeffries endorsed Mike Johnson to remain as Speaker today. We will discuss how this affects the Motion to Vacate the #uniparty Speaker. pic.twitter.com/2e1Fxapi3K

Greene took it a step further and accused Johson of making a “slimy backroom deal” with Democrats.
I have always maintained that while I do not support what Johnson is doing right now, I think removing him would doom the GOP to losing the House in November, something Republicans can ill afford to see happen.
If Democrats have control of even one chamber and Trump wins the election, it will be impeachments and investigations and four more years of complete and utter chaos as Democrats try to remove Trump while nothing gets done for the American people.
Democrats are already campaigning on this, and Greene is just feeding them more ammunition to use.
This is big picture time, and Greene simply cannot stop putting herself first, and it very well may cost Republicans big league in November.
