Two Staten Island parents have been arrested after their 1-month-old son was found dead on Saturday.
New York police responded to the call shortly before 7 a.m. and found the unconscious baby, Gothamist reported. The boy was rushed to Richmond University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Doctors at the hospital reported finding visible signs of trauma to the infant’s left arm, poice said.
Leonard Thompson, 38, and Jenice Lightfoot, 36, have been charged with first- and second-degree reckless endangerment. No other children were at the scene, according to police.
The medical examiner has not yet determined cause of death.
