Police officers rapidly removed protestors who interrupted a speech that U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) gave on Thursday.Â
The incident, according to The Hill, took place at the Oxford Union Society in England, where Pelosi was a guest.
There, Pelosi spoke about the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, between Israel and its enemies.
The protestors interrupted the speech with a pro-Palestinian message.
What happened?
Video of the incident is circulating the internet. Youth Demand, the group that claimed responsibility for the interruption, posted the video to their X account.

🚨 BREAKING: YOUTH DEMAND DISRUPT GENOCIDE-BACKING @speakerpelosi AT UNIVERSITY OF OXFORD
Warmongers like Nancy Pelosi are not welcome on University campuses. When children are being murdered, and hospitals are being bombed, we will not sit down and be quiet whilst these people… pic.twitter.com/dFwV6FwGBw

In the above video, a student can be seen walking up to Pelosi’s podium, turning around, and then unfurling a Palestinian flag.
Pelosi continued on with the speech while the student remained there, and this is when the police got involved, ultimately escorting two students from the hall.
Students declare Pelosi a “warmonger”
While Pelosi was in England, the student protestors went so far as to label her a “warmonger.
Youth Demand reiterated this in its social media post, writing:
Warmongers like Nancy Pelosi are not welcome on University campuses. When children are being murdered, and hospitals are being bombed, we will not sit down and be quiet whilst these people are given platforms. We must stand up and take action, because we aren’t f****** around anymore.
The problem that this group appears to have with Pelosi is that she, at least initially, supported Israel as it launched an offensive on Hamas, following the October 7, 2023, terrorist attack on the Israeli people. Pelosi also has faced protests from pro-Palestinian Democrats here in America.
Pelosi has softened her support of Israel in recent weeks, no doubt because of the protests. In fact, during her speech on Thursday, she essentially called for a ceasefire, saying, “we want peace on both sides, [but] both sides must agree to it.” Pelosi also said such things as “the suffering in Gaza must stop.”
But, this, apparently, is not enough for the student protestors. One gets the impression that they will not be satisfied until Pelosi and others completely renounce any and all support for Israel.
