Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., in a podcast interview with Blaze’s Glenn Beck, accused former chief White House medical adviser Anthony Fauci of overrunning Donald Trump during the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and escaped imprisonment because of Joe Biden.
Kennedy Jr., who has long criticized the government’s response during the COVID surge, threw shade at Fauci during the podcast that aired last Saturday.
“Well, he’s not in jail because Joe Biden is president and because, you know, unfortunately, Donald Trump colluded with or was run over by him,” said the independent presidential candidate.
“Donald Trump knew what was wrong. He knew not to shut down our businesses. And he knew about lockdowns, about ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine, and he tried to speak up, but his own bureaucrats told him to shut up, and unfortunately, he did what he was told,” remarked the son of Senator Robert F. Kennedy.
“During COVID… President Trump got rolled by his bureaucrats, and he came in saying, ‘I’m a businessman, I’m going to run this place like a business,’ [so] he gave the keys to all of our shops, stores, and businesses to Tony Fauci and shut down 3.3 million businesses,” he quipped.
He argued that this is the same reason why Trump “doesn’t deserve another chance.”
Fauci was a member of Trump’s Coronavirus Task Force. Biden promoted him to chief medical adviser in the COVID-19 response team before he retired in 2022.
The environmental activist turned presidential candidate then explained how the Patriot Act, which states that “any federal officer or employee who violates [the Geneva Convention or the 1973 Bioweapons Convention] cannot be prosecuted,” empowered Fauci and allowed him to start bioweapons research.
Kennedy and Beck also discussed the COVID-19 response, saying that people were locked indoors, including surfers in Malibu, skateboarders in Venice, and basketball players in Compton.
“And by that time, we already knew that COVID only spread indoors,” Kennedy quipped.
“The way to stop it was to stay in the sunlight and get healthy.”
The presidential hopeful also highlighted how the pandemic response gravely affects children’s development.
“We locked all those kids in apartments with their abusers with no meals because they’re getting their one hot meal a day from the schools,” Kennedy blasted.
“What we did to our kids’ development is just criminal. We just destroyed this generation.”
In an interview last year, Kennedy attacked Fauci, claiming that “he caused a lot of injury” for his COVID policies.
“I think that, particularly by withholding early treatment from Americans, we racked up the highest death count in the world.”
“We only have 4.2% of the globe’s population, but we had 16% of the COVID deaths in this country, and that was from bad policy,” he added.
