Former Williams & Jensen Principal Dan Ziegler donated to Virginia U.S. Senate Candidate Scott Parkinson. Williams & Jensen is a Washington D.C.-based lobbying firm with pro-Ukraine funding ties. Ziegler is currently Speaker Mike Johnson’s Director of Policy, playing a crucial role in passing the latest round of Ukraine funding. This, as Loomer Unleashed reported, Parkinson made anti-Trump statements at the Pennsylvania Leadership Conference in 2023, telling attendees, “What do you have to gain for voting for a new conservative leader?” Parkinson then started listing reasons why the GOP should pick a “new conservative leader.” The facts are clear, Parkinson is not the America First candidate in the Virginia United States Senate race.
FEC records show that Dan Ziegler donated to Scott Parkinson on April 26th, 2023.
When Ziegler donated to Parkinson, his employer was Williams & Jensen, a D.C.-based firm that prides itself on supporting Ukraine. A post from Williams & Jensen’s X account reads, “W&J Principal Eric Stewart has rallied dozens of companies to form the American-Ukrainian Business Council, tasked with strengthening ties between U.S. businesses & Ukraine. In just 5 days, the group raised $70M for economic relief.”
On November 1st, 2023, Speaker Johnson announced that “Dan Ziegler will serve as Director of Policy” for the Speaker. Ziegler has been an integral part of Johnson’s operation, as Ziegler previously ran the Republican Study Committee Meetings when Johnson was RSC Chairman in 2018. Ziegler serving as Johnson’s Director of Policy means he played a critical role in helping pass the latest round of Ukraine aid.
On April 3rd, 2023, while giving a speech to the Pennsylvania Leadership Conference about the upcoming GOP Presidential Primary, Parkinson said, “What do you have to gain for voting for a new conservative leader?” After making the statement, Parkinson went on to list reasons why the GOP should embrace a “new conservative leader.”
In the same speech, Parkinson refused to say President Trump’s name, “the work of a new President, a Republican President.”
It should be no surprise that Parkinson’s donor Dan Ziegler also gave to Ron DeSantis during the 2024 GOP Presidential Primary.
It is not shocking that Parkinson courts people like Ziegler. Parkinson is the Vice President of Government Affairs for Club for Growth, an organization that spent millions against Trump during the Iowa Caucus.
During Trump’s first term, Parkinson and the Club for Growth worked with Never Trump U.S. Senators Pat Toomey, Ben Sasse, and Democrat United States Senators Mark Warner and Maggie Hassan to limit President Trump’s trade authority. Parkinson wrote, “We applaud Senators Toomey (R-PA), Warner (D-VA), Sasse (R-NE), and Hassan (D-NH) along with Representatives Gallagher (R-WI), Kind (D-WI), LaHood (R-IL), and Panetta (D-CA) for their bipartisan leadership on this important issue. We strongly urge all Members of Congress to cosponsor the “Congressional Trade Authority Act” and work toward its swift enactment.”
Scott Parkinson is backed by some of the most enormous monsters in the swamp. The facts are clear. Scott Parkinson is not a Trump supporter like he claims to be. Parkinson is using MAGA as an attempt to gain power so he can use that power to stab President Trump and his supporters in the back. Virginia GOP voters should never support someone like Parkinson.
