Mimosa, Bloody Mary, nice flute of champagne — or maybe a favorite tipple in your coffee. Make yourself one and join me at our own Algonquin Round Table, the spirit of Dorothy Parker abides.
Happy Sunday, dear friends! Last full week of April ahead of us, a wild week of facepalms behind us. Biden’s “Don’t” was ignored (did Jill – the grandma-couch fashionista – come up with the lame one-worder?) while Joe was waving his hands about his uncle being the entree at a New Guinea BBQ. So take a deep breath and behold a wonderful brunch with spring’s first berries, fresh-baked scones with clotted cream, and a full assortment of sweet and savory hors d’oeuvres and pastries. Grab a flute of chilled bubbly, fill a plate of nosh and let’s get to it. Skål!
Climate crisis woo-woo
When ideology is more important than competency.
Weaponry systems in Ukraine, many of which were supplied by European countries, have been rendered unworkable, not due to Russian interference, but because of damage caused by mice and other rodents. Seemingly, these creatures have developed a preference for cable insulation made of corn fiber over synthetic materials. This predilection leads to malfunctioning electrical installations, rendering the expensive equipment essentially worthless, and requiring rapid overhauling.
Several European countries have supplied a wide range of weapon systems. However, the dilemma of ensuring electrical insulation durability has become a sticking point for newer equipment. This issue affects a multitude of nations where ESG (Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance) guidelines are making their way into the arms industry.
Leftist luxury beliefs in renewables has real-life consequences. And the rats eating corn-insulated cabling aren’t the only ones getting fat.

Sunday’s weather report from H3ll
Enough snow for snowballs …
It turns out for pedophiles in Hollywood, “It’s A Small World After All.” pic.twitter.com/4qUtOhXZYL
— Bill Maher (@billmaher) April 20, 2024
Bill Maher defending Ron DeSantis? Dears, set up a couple of Bulleit Bourbon shots for me because a self-professed liberal with a long-term love affair with Leftism is actually drawing a line where he believes the Left has gone too far. The Democrats and most of their base refuse to do that. I mean, Maher is still a smarmy creep who hasn’t apologized to Dennis Prager and seems unaware of the cognizant dissonance of advocating that “adults protect kids” from sexual grooming while also having no problem in killing kids in the womb because “there’s 8 billion people in the world. I’m sorry. We won’t miss you.” Such is the stuff of an adolescent atheist in a senior citizen body. So I’ll accept baby steps.

Sunday Report on America’s two justice systems
The continued destruction of a high-trust society.
In late January, six pro-life activists were convicted on charges of violating the federal Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, for blocking the entrance to an abortion facility in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee in 2021. The FACE Act, signed into law by President Bill Clinton, punishes “violent, threatening damaging, and obstructive conduct intended to injure, intimidate, or interfere with the right to seek, obtain, or provide” abortions.
For their peaceful demonstration — that included hymns and prayer — the defendants each face a maximum sentence of more than a decade in prison and three years of supervised released, plus up to $260,000 in fines.
On Wednesday, Hridindu Sankar Roychowdhury, a pro-abortion terrorist who firebombed the pro-life Wisconsin Family Action offices on Mother’s Day, 2022, was sentenced to 7.5 years in prison (minus time served) plus three years supervised release on just one count of malicious damage by fire or explosives of property used in interstate commerce.
Our Betters no longer hide their agenda. This, too: A ‘sit-in’ that inconveniences one person going into an abortion clinic will draw the wrath of the Feds. Blocking the Golden Gate bridge for five hours? No charges filed.

You ain’t taxed enough
Why the Leftist scolds hated the TEA Party.
You Don’t Have to Take Every Tax Deduction, and You Shouldn’t
we should recognize that tax breaks also prop up the wealth of millions of affluent Americans who take advantage of exemptions that are very hard, perhaps impossibly hard, to defend on either practical or moral grounds.
Ooo! Assuming facts not in evidence! This lazy-dazy column written by a Marxist prig is every kind of cheap moralizing in service of covetousness we have come to expect from the anti-Western Civ portside. The biggest clue bat is how the author deliberately switches between wealth and income in an attempt to engender resentment. And this line takes the Antoinette cake, layers and icing all.
Imagine if we all came to view tax breaks not as entitlements but as money that is not rightfully ours.
Oh, honeybun, I can imagine quite well. This kind of thug mentality that all property – earned or accumulated – is owned by The State is not new nor clever at all. Kindly, dear Matthew Desmond, have sexual congress with yourself and leave Princeton for places more to your ideological preferences. I hear North Korea is lovely this time of year.

Black privilege
Congresswoman Maxine Waters says she is a victim of racist attacks:

Thou shall bend a knee and remain silent.
I don’t think so.

People’s Republic of California sets its target on Musk
Looks like the Coastal Commission (an unaccountable bureaucracy with immense power) has jumped on the “get Elon” train.
According to an article yesterday in the Santa Barbara Independent, the California Coastal Commission is aggressively looking for ways it can prevent SpaceX and other commerical rocket companies from increasing the launch pace out of Vandenberg Space Force Base.
When asked how many launches at VSFB benefit the Department of Defense (DOD), Colonel Bryan Titus, vice commander for Space Launch Delta 30, said that 25 percent hold DOD satellites and payloads, but argued that all SpaceX launches support the DOD and its allies.
“I just don’t think that SpaceX should be able to skirt the requirements for a Coastal Development Permit when its clear intent is to conduct primarily for-profit business activity and not federal activity,” said Kristina Kunkel, the Environmental Policy Director of the California State Controller’s Office
“For profit” … them’s pretty scary words, eh?

Your Sunday smile.
Ok, I’m a sucker for doggy and kitty tales. Especially as I have an 11 month old sable GSD. This just warms the cockles or something.
A shelter dog has found a new mission in life as a drug-sniffing police K-9 — a transformation that took place just months after the pup was rescued from the streets of Fort Worth, Texas.
“If you talk to me in five years, I guarantee you we’re going to have kilos of records to reflect his service to the city,” Sgt. Charles Hubbard of the Fort Worth Police Department told Fox News Digital.
Rock, a long and dark-coated German shepherd mix, is part of narcotics detection operations that have taken hundreds of thousands of pills off the streets — making him a vital tool in combating today’s fentanyl crisis.
That handsome, good boy needs his named amended to Rock Star. May he have a long and happy life.

Oh my, look at the time! I treasure my Sundays with you and always look forward to the next. We’ll pretty much be wrapping up the month (!!!) next Sunday. Hold your family and friends close and I’ll see you then. Cheers!
