The House Judiciary Committee compiled an 800-page report unveiling Biden and the deep state’s censorship scheme, revealing their collaboration with big tech to infringe upon the First Amendment.
Named big tech companies included were YouTube, Amazon, Facebook.
Mike Benz summarized the report’s findings, providing “10 flaming examples” of instances where big tech capitulated to the federal government and censored information that could be detrimental to the state.
Elon Musk would later reply to the post, writing, “Wow.” Bill Ackman wrote, “This is very bad.”
One of the examples Benz shared included a time Mark Zuckerberg was pressured by the government, even under former president Trump, to censor the COVID-19 lab leak theory in addition to four other claims about the virus.
President Biden enhanced this pressure in 2021, so Facebook began removing posts and censoring the stories completely.
“There were five claims that met the standard, including the claim that Covid is ‘man-made, manufactured, bioengineered, a bioweapon, or created by an individual government or country,’ which includes claims that the virus was modified through gain of function research and leaked from a lab,” an email addressed to Zuckerberg within the report states.
“Between May 2020 and February 2021, we reduced distribution for content making the five claims, applied a label, and linked to a dubunking article,” it continued.
Amazon acknowledged twice in March 2021 that they altered their policies in their online bookstore due to pressure from the Biden Administration.
In July 2021 a Facebook executive admitted that they suppressed the lab leak theory because the Biden Administration instructed them to do so.
“In March 2021, an Amazon employee emailed others within the company about the reason for the Amazon bookstore’s new content moderation policy change: ‘The impetus for this request is criticism from the Biden Administration about sensitive books we’re giving prominent placement to,’” the report reads.
Biden’s demands persisted following the July admission of censoring the lab leak theory. And Facebook faced continued pressure from the government, leading to the implementation of stricter policies on “misinformation.”
The Biden administration also sought the removal of any content skeptical of the COVID vaccine from Facebook, along with jokes or satire about it. Facebook ultimately complied with these requests.
YouTube also fell in line with the government’s censorship directives, per the report, as the company’s product team collaborated openly with the White House to suppress information and amplify government propaganda.
Resist The Mainstream reported Friday that Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) unveiled several previously undisclosed pieces of information concerning White House pressure on Facebook to censor the lab leak theory.
Elon Musk described the new information as a “Smoking gun First Amendment violation.”
Jordan initially shared a text message on X from Mark Zuckerberg to Sheryl Sandberg, Nick Clegg, and Joel Kaplan—the company’s top executives at the time.
Zuckerberg inquired in the message whether Facebook can publicly disclose that “the [Biden] WH put pressure on us to censor the lab leak theory?”
This message notably was sent hours after Biden accused Facebook of “killing people.”
Clegg responded, characterizing the Biden White House as “highly cynical and dishonest.”
Sandberg then expressed the sentiment that they were being scapegoated due to the White House’s failure to meet its vaccination targets.
