China has secretly developed a brain-computer interface that could pave the way for unprecedented control over the human mind, raising serious security concerns for America and our allies. They’re even using real human cells.
At a glance:
• Chinese scientists have developed a ‘brain-on-chip’ system combining lab-grown human brain matter with a neural interface
• The CCP-run lab’s device allows users to control computers with their thoughts
• China is only the second country after the United States to conduct clinical trials for invasive brain-computer interface devices, but to what end?
• The technology was tested on a 37-year-old man who lost all four limbs, enabling him to play video games using only his mind
• While Elon Musk’s Neuralink pursues similar technology, China aims to have its version ready for market by 2028
Communist China’s Dangerous Mind Control Technology
Chinese scientists working for a CCP-run laboratory have successfully developed a “brain-on-chip” system that combines lab-grown human brain matter with a neural interface chip. This alarming development represents a significant leap in brain-computer interface technology, allowing users to control digital systems with their thoughts alone.
“Now I can control the computer with my thoughts. It feels like I can move at will,” said the patient involved in China’s first-in-human clinical trial of an invasive brain-computer interface (#BCI) device. The trial was launched on March 5, 2025 by CEBSIT & Huashan Hospital. A… pic.twitter.com/TFNMNfooQp

The research was conducted at the Center for Excellence in Brain Science and Intelligence Technology (CEBSIT) at the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Scientists there have created what they call an “organoid robot” that can be instructed through “mind control,” according to Chinese state media.

Racing Against American Innovation
China is now the second country, following the United States, to conduct clinical trials for invasive brain-computer interface (BCI) devices in humans. Their first trial involved a 37-year-old man who lost all four limbs, enabling him to play video games using only his thoughts.
Worryingly, the Chinese BCI device allegedly surpasses American competitor Neuralink’s technology in some aspects. According to Chinese researchers, their device is “smaller and more flexible” than Elon Musk’s chip, with lead scientist Zhao Zhengtuo claiming, “The electrode is so soft that the force required to bend it is comparable to the interaction force between two neurons in the brain.”
Meanwhile, Elon Musk’s Neuralink has secured $650 million to expand its testing program globally. Musk has ambitious plans for his technology, stating, “If all goes well, there will be hundreds of people with Neuralinks within a few years, maybe tens of thousands within five years, millions within 10 years.”
National Security Implications
The CCP’s aggressive push into brain-computer interface technology raises serious questions about national security and potential weaponization of the technology. CEBSIT aims to have its BCI device ready for market by 2028, initially positioning it as a medical device for amputees and those with spinal cord injuries.
However, experts worry about the dual-use nature of this technology in the hands of the Chinese Communist Party. The artificial brain developed by Chinese scientists can interact with external information by encoding, decoding, and responding to stimulus feedback, effectively creating a direct pathway between human consciousness and digital systems.
While American companies like Neuralink operate under strict regulatory oversight and ethical guidelines, China’s research occurs within a system known for prioritizing military applications and surveillance. The technology’s potential for unauthorized access to human thought processes presents unprecedented privacy and security concerns for the free world.
