Perpetual partier Travis Kelce split the socials as he brought his beer-fueled antics to a commencement ceremony.
Thursday at the University of Cincinnati’s Fifth Third Arena, the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs tight end and his older brother Jason Kelce took part in a live audience edition of their “New Heights” podcast. The high-energy return to their alma mater included a special conclusion as the university’s president Neville Pinto joined the football brothers on stage in graduation regalia to present them with their diplomas.
With their parents joining them on stage, the 34-year-old Kelce shook hands and bro-hugged Pinto while holding a beer before, in “Travis Kelce style” to massive cheers from the audience, he proceeded to chug and spike the remainder of his drink and pose with his diploma and UC athletic director John Cunningham.

While the older Kelce had missed out on attending his ceremony after earning a marketing degree in 2010, the Cincinnati Enquirer had detailed that “Travis finished his remaining credit hours to complete his degree in interdisciplinary studies from the College of Arts and Sciences in 2022,” having attended college from 2008 to 2012.
The university’s X account shared a post from the “New Heights” podcast that featured the brothers holding their diplomas high with the caption, “CINCINNATI WE LOVE YOU!!! Shoutout all the 92%ers who came out to #NewHeightsLive,” adding a quote from Kelce who said, “Don’t forget to get your degrees on the way out!”

Thursday’s surprise ceremony was hardly the first time that the tight end’s enthusiasm for chugging beer raised eyebrows as in May 2023, having won the previous year’s Super Bowl as well, he held a music festival dubbed “Kelce Jam” where he stepped out on stage with a replica of the Vince Lombardi Trophy which he used as a beer luge before spiking the totem.

Further questionable behavior was marked in February of this year when, following a shooting incident at the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl celebration that ended the life of a mother of two, Kelce was spotted taking selfies and partying with fans at a sports bar only hours later.
Leading up to the beer-chugging commencement, the Kelces had been joined by former UC players Desmond Ridder of the Arizona Cardinals along with the Cincinnati Bengals Joe Burrow and Orlando Brown Jr. Additionally, their arena-sized podcast squeezed their Subway sponsorship into t-shirt cannons to reward fans with sandwiches.

Despite the revelries that preceded the surprise ceremony, the mixed reactions online included a significant number of people chiding Kelce for setting a poor example for young fans.
This really shows how useless a college education is. Officials standing there in the cap and gown…giving a “achievement” which now means nothing to a beer chugging goon. How far culture has fallen. Just insulting and gross.

More people die from alcohol than any other drug. Excessive alcohol use was responsible for about 178,000 deaths in the United States in 2021. More than double the amount of Opioid deaths (80,000)
