“Every Voice Matters” was the theme that hundreds of prolife leaders and activists reflected on as they gathered in Overland Park for the 54th Annual National Right to Life Convention on June 20 and 21, 2025.
The Convention was marked by stirring general sessions and a variety of breakout sessions among which the participants could choose. Likewise there was a Champions Luncheon, and the closing event Saturday night revived a longstanding tradition of National Right to Life, namely, the Proudly Pro-life Gala.
Some readers may recall that this banquet used to be held at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City, and each year, bestowed the “Proudly Pro-life Award.” This year, the convention honored Archbishop Joseph Naumann, who has consistently reminded the faithful of the priority that the abortion issue needs to have in the life of the Church and the nation.

One of the key topics covered in the sessions included artificial intelligence, and how it can help the pro-life movement. Participants were guided through a “how-to” lesson. For instance, ChatGPT can do “deep research” and assist pro-life speakers and activists to find and summarize, in a matter of minutes, information, statistics, and studies that can be used for pro-life presentations.
Numerous other tools were discussed that can help design websites, create images and videos, and even write songs.
Another key session introduced a new organization in the pro-life movement: SALT, the Science Alliance for Life and Technology. This has been spearheaded by someone well known in pro-life and bioethical circles, Dr. David Prentice, who led the presentation. He invited the participation and input of all pro-life people to submit suggestions for what kind of research and advocacy pro-life scientists should do. The developing website is www.SALT4Life.org.
Participants in the conference also heard presentations about the lawfare to which pro-life people have been subjected, but from which President Trump has been rescuing them. Legislative experts also spoke about the pro-life initiatives in the current Congress, top among which, of course, is the potentially imminent end to the Medicaid funding of Planned Parenthood and other abortion businesses.
Attacks on pregnancy centers were also a topic of discussion, and a major panel was held about the states that successfully stopped the abortion ballot measures last fall – that is, Florida, Nebraska, and South Dakota.
As one of the Florida leaders who fought successfully against Amendment 4, I was especially happy to be there, along with others from Florida including Lynda Bell, who serves both as President of Florida Right to Life and Board Chair of National Right to Life.
Participants also engaged practical topics like how to use social media and how to improve their fundraising. Likewise, they were able to visit a couple of dozen exhibit tables from state and national pro-life organizations who provided tools, literature, and training resources to advance the protection of the unborn.
One of the exhibitors was Bott Radio Network. This national Christian radio network is a great friend and ally of the pro-life movement. It’s CEO, Mr. Rich Bott, whose headquarters is just five minutes from where the Convention was held, welcomed participants to Kansas and shared the deep commitment he, his family, and his team have always had to the pro-life cause. I have also counted them as dear friends and collaborators for many years.
I had many conversations with pro-life leaders who, like myself, have been attending and presenting at the National Right to Life Convention for decades. I had an equal number of conversations with people who were there for the first time. And some of us recalled the surreal experience of seeing Roe vs. Wade get overturned right before our eyes as we participated in the 2022 National Right to Life Convention during which the Dobbs decision was announced.
That victory over Roe came about precisely because of the kind of intelligent, persevering prayer and action of people all over the nation, represented by the attendees of this conference. And thanks to the continued work, based on the information, inspiration, and networking relationships developed at conferences just like this, that pro-life work will continue to build on the Dobbs victory until we achieve the full protection for the unborn which Dobbs has now made possible.
Next year’s National Right to Life Convention will take place in Arlington, VA on June 12 and 13, 2026. Information will be at www.NRLConvention.com.
