A New York Home Depot has been forced to hire extra security to protect customers as the store’s parking lot has become a target for thieves and gangs of aggressive illegal aliens.
At the Home Depot in New Rochelle, two men wearing MSA Security caps and bulletproof vests with a German Shepherd in tow are now patrolling the parking lot.
According to a report from the New York Post, other stores will now likely follow as their customers are becoming increasingly targetted by thieves and illegal alien gangs.
“It’s more about omnipresence,” one guard said, explaining that the company was contracted a few weeks ago.
“It’s not like we let them go bite anyone or anything,” he said of the guard dog.
The guard said the store hired them for a number of reasons.
“It’s not just because of [migrants], but because of a myriad of other things too, like people breaking into cars, that kind of stuff,” he said.
Meanwhile, The Post visited another store, seven miles away in Throggs Neck, The Bronx, which hasn’t deployed extra guards yet.
Some were also aggressively soliciting tips for lifting items from shopping carts into cars — even when uninvited.
The report noted that the illegals were targeting lone women and pressuring them to pay them to lift items into their vehicles, even against their wishes.
“You come out and you’re a woman by yourself, they literally leech onto your wagon, and you’re like ‘No, I don’t need any help,’” one worker said.
“And when they’re following you to your car, it’s unnerving.”
