Obama pulling the strings? Fmr. defense secretary apparently had knowledge of Milley’s call to Chinese general

WASHINGTON, DC- There have been more than a few suspicions that someone is pulling Joe Biden’s puppet strings.

The fact that he has loaded his administration with lackeys from the Obama years has led some credence to those beliefs, with many people believing it is actually Barry Sotero, aka Obama controlling the puppet strings.

A new revelation about attempts to undermine former President Trump may amp up those theories.

National File reports that former Obama administration Defense Secretary and CIA Director Leon Panetta may have mistakenly given up the gig that he was involved in part with Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Mark Milley’s back-channel calls to a Chinese general, done without the knowledge of either Trump or his Acting Defense Director Christopher Miller.

In a Twitter post on The Hill, Panetta admitted that Milley had made secret calls to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), saying the first call was “pursuant to the approval of [Defense] Secretary [Mark] Esper,” and added the second call was made because “President [Trump] was appointing political people to key positions at the Defense Department.”

It was then that Panetta apparently made a faux pas, seeming to admit that he, as a private citizen was involved with the secret calls, noting, “…we were concerned about what the President might do.” [emphasis added]

Panetta’s statement confirms that Esper had been involved with at least one of the unauthorized calls to the CCP and lends credence to National File’s previous reporting on how many people in the Trump administration knew of Milley’s apparent treason in attempting to undermine a sitting president.

Fox News was told that both Miller and Esper were aware of and had “full knowledge” of Milley’s calls, along with “about 15 other people.” Miller vehemently denied that report, saying that he “did not and would not ever authorize” such calls without the president’s knowledge and consent.

The fact that Panetta was apparently involved in at least one of the calls leads one to wonder exactly how man former government officials, in particular those involved in the Obama administration, knew about the calls made by Milley, which a number of people have referred to as “treason” against the United States.

Some have called Milley’s actions an “unprecedented” abuse of his office as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. Milley has thus far defended his actions, whereby he told a Chinese general that he would forewarn our fiercest rival if then-President Trump decided to engage in military action, thus putting U.S. military personnel in danger. Milley says his actions were “perfectly” in line with his duties.

Meanwhile, House Republicans have written to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, demanding Milley be subject to an AR 15-6 investigation for his “outright treason.” A copy of that letter was obtained by The Daily Caller.

In the letter, lawmakers requested the investigation after Milley “blatantly disregarded the concept of civilian control of the military, and gave aid and comfort to America’s principal adversary, the Chinese Communist Party.”

“Gen Milley allegedly took great pains to assure his Chinese counterpart, General Li Zuocheng, that U.S. military exercises in the South China Sea would not precipitate an armed conflict. Allegedly, on a phone call with General Li on 30 October 2020, GEN Milley deliberately undermined the sovereign interests of our nation,” the letter reads.

The letter continues that Milley made a second phone call on January 8, 2021 to discuss “concerns of an armed conflict,” then reportedly called the Indo-Pacific Commander, instructing him to “call off all military exercises in the South China Sea, following up by assembling senior officers and mandating that any order to launch a nuclear weapon must include GEN Milley’s involvement,” a direct contradiction to U.S. policy and chain of command.

“He allegedly then asked all officers present to affirm their understanding of his order—hence establishing a parallel chain of command—with respect to the nuclear launch codes,” the letter continued. “To conspire with a communist, malfeasant, hostile and genocidal government regarding our intentions—or lack thereof—with utter disregard to the implications of said ‘promise’ on our national security or our Service Members, is nothing short of craven (at best) and treasonous.”

The letter continued, addressing Milley’s alleged secret phone call with Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) regarding the securing of nuclear launch codes, noting that “the General’s previous behavior on this subject indicates the House of Representatives must learn more about the conversation(s) between GN Milley and Speaker Pelosi to determine whether the general attempted to make a partisan issue of National security.”

They then asked Austin to “investigate whether the phone calls between GEN Milley and General Li occurred, as well as the phone calls between GEN Milley and Speaker Pelosi, and the content thereof.”

The letter was signed by a number of House Republicans, including among others Lauren Boebert (R-CO), Marjorie Taylor Green (R-GA), Matt Gaetz (R-FL), Louis Gohmert (R-TX), Chip Roy (R-TX), Andy Biggs (R-AZ), and Mo Brooks (R-AL).

DIG DEEPER

WASHINGTON, DC- In normal times with a legitimate, unbiased press, there would be no question about the seriousness of allegations made against Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Mark Milley, who is alleged to have directly and purposefully attempted to undermine President Trump, then serving as commander in chief.

Unfortunately, such a press in general does not exist. More so, Democrats are more interested in pushing their radical Marxist agenda than protecting the integrity of the Office of the President of the United States.

Republicans however are apoplectic after the allegations made by journalists Bob Woodward (of Watergate fame) and Robert Costa in their upcoming book, Peril. According to that book, Milley believed that the then-president would “go rogue” and proceeded to work behind the scenes, in concert with our number one enemy—China—to undermine President Trump.

Milley worked two “back-channel phone calls” according to Breitbart, with China’s top general and said he would inform him (commonly called treason) if for some reason Trump was going to launch an attack on that country.

“You and I have known each other for now five years. If we’re going to attack, I’m going to call you ahead of time. It’s not going to be a surprise,” Milley is alleged to have told the Chinese general.

These allegations now have at least two senators calling for Milley to either step down, be fired or in the case of Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY), court martialed.

On Tuesday, Paul called for Milley’s removal if the allegations made in the book are proved to be true.

“I don’t care what you think of President Trump, the Chairman of the JCOS [Joint Chiefs of Staff] working to subvert the military chain of command and collude with China is exactly what we do not accept from military leaders in our country. He should be court martialed if true.

Couple that with his inept handling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan, and it is clear General Milley is no longer fit to serve as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and should be removed immediately.”

In addition to Paul, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) called for Milley to resign. Breitbart reported that in a letter written and released on Tuesday, Rubio suggested that Joe Biden “dismiss” Milley immediately, and charged that by his actions.

Milley undermined former President Trump by planning to commit treason.

He wrote:

I write with grave concern regarding recent reporting that General Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, worked to actively undermine the sitting Commander in Chief of the United States Armed Forces and contemplated a treasonous leak of classified information to the Chinese Communist Party in advance of a potential armed conflict with the People’s Republic of China (PRC). These actions by General Milley demonstrate a clear lack of sound judgment, and I urge you to dismiss him immediately.

In his letter, Rubio noted that in speaking to our enemy, “Milley interfered with America’s civilian-controlled military, which could possibly ‘lead to war.’”

He wrote:

I do not need to tell of you the dangers posed by senior military officers leaking classified information on U.S. military operations, but I will underscore that such subversion undermines the President’s ability to negotiate and leverage one of this nation’s instruments of national power in his interaction with foreign nations.

Even more egregiously, reports indicate that General Milley interfered with the procedures by which the civilian commander-in-chief can order a nuclear strike. He purportedly instructed officials not to take orders without his involvement and forced them to take an oath to that effect. A senior military officer interfering with that civilian-controlled process is simply unacceptable at best, and at worst, would cause ambiguity which could lead to war.

General Milley has attempted to rationalize his reckless behavior by arguing that what he perceived as the military’s judgment was more stable than its civilian commander. It is a dangerous precedent that could be asserted at any point in the future by General Milley or others. It threatens to tear apart our nation’s longstanding principle of civilian control of the military.

Lest anyone think this is strictly a partisan issue, former U.S. Army Lt. Col. Alexander Vindman (yes, that Alexander Vindman) says that through his actions, Milley had “usurped civilian authority.”

“If this is true, GEN Milley must resign. He usurped civilian authority, broke Chain of Command, and violated the sacrosanct principle of civilian control over the military. It’s an extremely dangerous precedent. You can’t simply walk away from that,” Vindman tweeted.

Aside from the two U.S. Senators, several members of the House also called for Milley’s ouster.

Rep. Chris Stewart (R-UT) tweeted:

“If the reports about General Milley are true, he needs to be relieved of his duties. There’s no justification for secret communication with our greatest adversary. There’s no justification for treason.

@POTUS: If this is verified, you need to immediately dismiss General Milley.”

Rep. Justin Amash (L-MI) said that Milley had betrayed his oath:

“We must preserve civilian control of the Armed Forces, through the president, as our Constitution requires. Any official who subverts this system should not be in office. Anyone concerned about an unfit president can seek a constitutional remedy; anything else betrays their oath.”

Rep. Doug Lamborn (R-CO) tweeted:

“I am astounded by the extraordinary lack of judgment by Gen. Milley & his willingness to compromise our national security & risk American lives. If Milley really did coordinate with his counterparts in the #CCP, behind the back of the President, he should be relieved of duty.”

According to Newsweek, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) is also calling for Milley’s court martial if the allegations are true.

In a tweet, she wrote:

“Court-martial Mark Milley.”

Finally, Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) accused Milley of treason:

“TREASON! Today’s news adds to the long list of why Milley must go IMMEDIATELY! If this is true, he needs to be prosecuted, tried, and sentenced to the FULLEST extent of the law. NOTHING LESS! Colluding with our ENEMIES to undermine the President is TRAITOROUS!”

Newsweek said they reached out to the Joint Chiefs for comment on the accusations against Milley and Republican calls for him to be ousted and had yet to receive a response.

Military.com addressed the Uniform Code of Military Justice, which spells out three different levels of court-martial. The most serious is a general court martial under which a convicted person can be sentenced to death.

“The accused has a right to be represented by a free military attorney or may hire their own civilian lawyer,” the website noted. “A general court-martial may deliver any punishment not prohibited by the UCMJ, including death when specifically authorized.”

Not sure about all of you, but doesn’t Milley remind you of an unhinged bully like Jack Nicholson’s character in “A Few Good Men?”

DIG DEEPER

The following editorial is written by a retired Chief of Police and current staff writer for Law Enforcement Today.

WASHINGTON, DC- We’ve sat on the sidelines, shaking our heads at the sheer incompetence of the Biden administration.

After months of spending future generations of Americans into bankruptcy before they’ve even grown up or been born, Team Biden turned its attention to foreign policy, which we were told was the strength of Joe Biden and his team of Obama-era retreads.

Some two weeks or so after Biden’s team put the finishing touches on the ultimate embarrassment for the United States, with thirteen dead American service members, twenty injured and hundreds of dead Afghans, not one member of the administration has either resigned or been fired. None.

As a matter of fact, the only non-combat casualty of this fiasco is Marine Corps Lt. Stuart P. Scheller Jr., who in a viral video demanded accountability from the unaccountable, namely the senior military leadership who clearly botched the U.S. exit from Afghanistan.

Scheller, who was initially relieved of his command after the release of the video subsequently resigned his commission as a Marine Corps officer, thereby sacrificing over a million-dollar pension and seventeen years of service to the Corps.

Not only did Scheller give up his career and his pension, he may soon also give up his freedom, as he is facing the possibility of a court martial and possible jail time for his “transgression” of telling the truth. Yet out of this whole clusterf*ck, he may be the only one who loses his job.

Joel B. Pollak, Senior Editor-at-Large at Breitbart News in an op-ed said what we have been thinking since this whole nightmare started—it is time for senior administration officials in defense, state, national security and intelligence to either be fired or resign.

Until that happens, as Pollak notes “America’s credibility and military deterrent” will continue to decline. A lack of accountability will literally put our “national security at risk.”

We agree.

We wrote as the sheer ineptitude of Biden’s national security team came to light that it was time to clean house, which Pollak also suggests.

All of them must go—Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, CIA director William Burns and Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Every single one of them bungled the Afghanistan situation beyond belief.

While Biden should also be included in that group, the only way that will happen is through the 25th Amendment or impeachment. While Republicans can try submitting articles of impeachment, with Crazy Pelosi running the show in the House that will go nowhere. Still, it’s worth a try if for nothing else other than optics. Still somebody…a lot of somebody’s need to go.

For example, while the Taliban was running roughshod over Afghanistan earlier this year, what were Austin and Milley doing? Concerning themselves with “white rage” and foisting critical race theory on the people whose only job is to kill people and break things.

That’s it. The military isn’t some kind of grand social experiment despite the apparent focus of military leadership. They are there to provide for our national defense.

Focusing on “transition” surgery for military members is a hell of a lot less important than making sure we don’t leave $80 billion of military equipment left behind which can then be repurposed by terrorists. Having “drag queen shows” on military bases isn’t as important as keeping focused on what China and Russia are doing.

As Pollak notes, Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) has proposed a bill to ban critical race theory (CRT) from the military. That is a step in the right direction. CRT does nothing to build morale, cohesion, unity of purpose, mission, or esprit de corps.

All it does is sow racial division and foment the fantasy that the United States was founded on racist principles. How does the military expect men and women to sacrifice their lives for a country which is claimed to be racist at its core?

Pollak also says that the United States needs a strategic focus in what exactly our mission is. A number of Americans have concluded that the United States simply cannot and should not act in the capacity of the world’s policeman.

While a representative republic has worked out great for our country, trying to get other countries to “buy in” to that is a fool’s errand. So-called “nation-building” is not and should not be the goal of the United States.

Simply put, some countries do not want to live under a Democracy. Forcing our ideology on nations and peoples who don’t want it is a waste of time and resources.

Clearly our greatest threat right now in light of the fall of Afghanistan is the southern border. Democrats attempt to portray everyone crossing the southern border as either Mexicans or refugees from the Northern Triangle countries.

However as has been documented, people are crossing the border from countries all over the world, including the Middle East.

Given the fact that our failure in Afghanistan resulted in 5,000 ISIS fighters being released from prison, is it too much to expect that some of those terrorists might find their way to Mexico? And then into our porous southern border? That is why we must secure the southern border…NOW!

Finally, Pollak notes (and we agree) that our increasing national debt poses a significant national security risk to our country. He addressed the fact that when the “war on terror” began in 2001 after the September 11 terrorist attacks, the national debt stood at less than $6 trillion.

That’s a lot of money, but since that time, Congress has basically said “hold my beer.” That debt has increased nearly five times and is at just under $28 trillion.

Simply put, that is not sustainable.

There is currently pending another $5 trillion plus spending and “infrastructure” package that is basically a cornucopia of leftist wish list items. And while the Democrats proposed spending spree is pretty much across the board, there is one glaring deficiency—national defense.

At a time when both China and Russia are exponentially increasing their military equipment, we are still using 60-year-old plus B-52s. Our nuclear missile capability is using decades-old technology. Yet the proposed defense budget has been proposed to be flat funded.

Last month, as we made our erratic exit from Afghanistan, it was announced by the Social Security Administration that as of 2034, it would no longer be able to fund full benefits.

In other words, if you are 50 years old today and younger, the social security benefits you paid into your entire life will not be there. Yet here we are, with Democrats proposing to lower the age to qualify for Medicare while expanding the program to cover vision and dental. Simply put, it is not sustainable.

Pollak suggests a mix of issuing long-term bonds, entitlement reforms and changes in domestic spending in order to help social security survive. Unfortunately, changes in domestic spending and entitlement reforms are unlikely to happen, no matter which party controls Congress.

We agree with Pollak that out country is desperately in need of a moral revival and a serious dose of self-reflection as to exactly who we are and what our country needs to be going forward.

It is the ultimate in irony that while we see our southern border being overrun by people trying to escape other countries to come here, the Democrats claim that America is a systemically racist country where people of color have no chance. Why then would people be risking their very lives clamoring to get here? That of course makes no sense.

Pollak said:

“We cannot defeat enemies when we lack moral self-confidence—when our president says we are beset by ‘systemic racism,’ and our role models kneel to protest the American flag. Young people are abandoning religious faith—and having fewer babies, too, which is like a vote of no confidence in the country’s future. We are long overdue for an awakening of patriotic and religious feeling.”

That is a great idea. In fact, former President Donald Trump attempted to establish a 1776 Commission which released The 1776 Report on January 18, 2021.

The report was promptly quashed by Joe Biden as one of his first executive orders. The 1776 Report completely eviscerated the historically inaccurate “1619 Project,” which claimed the U.S. was founded by racists on racist principles. Yet Joe Biden, once again selling out to the far-left neo-Marxist base of his party, dismissed the report.

Pollak is correct.

“We need, in short to start over. And the first step must be to remove the leaders who brought us here. Nothing more should happen in Congress until those responsible for Afghanistan are gone.”

We won’t hold our breath. Democrats are so far off the rails that Nancy Pelosi last week refused to have the names of the thirteen dead service members killed in Afghanistan read into the Congressional record as part of a moment of silence.

The Democrats have refused Republican requests for a commission to look into what exactly went wrong with our pullout in Afghanistan.

So we put the safety and security of our country in the hands of fools like Austin, Milley, Blinken, Sullivan and others who totally and completely turned the withdrawal from Afghanistan into one of the greatest military blunders since Little Big Horn.

God help us.
