EAST PALESTINE, Ohio (NewsNation) — Norfolk Southern has agreed to a $600 million settlement in a class action lawsuit relating to the East Palestine, Ohio, train derailment in February 2023.
The rail company announced the agreement in a news release Tuesday morning, saying if the courts accept the settlement, all claims within a 20-mile radius of the derailment will be resolved.
The rail company says this settlement is not an admission of guilt or liability.
