Pro-Life Group Sets Up Mobile Ultrasound Unit in Front of Abortion Center to Save Babies From Abortions

Grassroots pro-life advocates in Utah just expanded their efforts to reach out to mothers considering abortion.

On Wednesday, Pro-Life Utah opened a new mobile ultrasound clinic to provide free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, counseling and more to mothers outside abortion facilities in the state, according to its website.

The mobile clinic currently is parked near the Planned Parenthood in Salt Lake City, which aborts unborn babies up to 22 weeks of pregnancy, the organization said.

“Unlike Planned Parenthood, Pro-Life Utah is here to do everything possible to truly help women in need and empower them to make a choice that will leave them happier and let their babies live,” said Mary Taylor, president of the organization.

The pro-lifers said their goal is to provide confidential, professional, compassionate, private and free support for mothers and babies.

“When a woman enters the mobile clinic, she will be greeted by a small, qualified staff, including a certified ultrasonographer and an options counselor,” according to the pro-life organization. “She may take a pregnancy test in the private on-board restroom. She will then be offered a hospital-grade ultrasound and given the chance to see her baby and hear its heartbeat.”

Pregnancy Choice Utah, the pregnancy/parenting support branch of Pro-Life Utah, also offers options counseling, mentoring, legal assistance, housing aid, baby supplies and other monetary assistance through its Life Grant program, according to the organization.

“The support doesn’t automatically end when the baby is born; we walk alongside mom and baby throughout and, as needed and desired, well beyond pregnancy,” Pro-Life Utah leaders said.

Utah has two abortion facilities, both in Salt Lake City. About 3,000 unborn babies are aborted in the state every year.

But volunteers with Pro-Life Utah are making a dent in that number. Through sidewalk counseling and support services, they said they have helped dozens of mothers choose life for their babies, and, through the new mobile ultrasound, they hope to help many more.

Pro-Life Utah started about five years ago as “a ragtag team of a handful of friends working together to end abortion, we had big dreams of helping women in real, tangible ways,” according to its website.

Now, the organization has more than 40 volunteers dedicated to compassionate outreach to mothers and babies. To get involved or donate, visit ProLifeUtah.org.
