Former Democrat Tulsi Gabbard has stated that she is prepared to “serve my country” in the role of vice president in the event that former President Donald Trump extends an offer to her to take on the role.
Gabbard, who had previously run for president in 2020 before leaving the Democratic Party in 2022, is said to be on Trump’s short list of vice presidential candidates, as The Washington Examiner reported.
This is due to the fact that Trump is the presumed nominee for the Republican Party’s presidential nomination.
The Question of Candidacy
When Gabbard was asked on Monday about the potential of being Trump’s vice president, she responded that she would be prepared to accept the offer “because I know what is at stake in a deep
and visceral way.”
“If that call came, I would say yes, and I’d be honored to serve my country in that way and to be in a position, first, to help win this election, to stop the Democratic elite from destroying our country, and then actually begin the real work of getting our country back on track,” Gabbard said.
“And that starts with having people of courage in our government who care more about the country than they do about the political elite in Washington.”

Gabbard’s Goals
Ahead of the 2024 election, Gabbard talked about her mission, which is to reach out to as many people as possible, particularly those who are politically homeless, and encourage them to cast their ballots this November.
She continued by expressing her hope that the United States had “far more people” who love it than those who want to see it destroyed.
Before the 2024 election, Gabbard urged people to think about all the issues at stake and not be swayed by candidates’ “fearmongering” advertisements.
Other Possible Picks
Members of Congress Byron Donalds (R–FL), Elise Stefanik (R–NY), Marjorie Taylor Greene (R–GA), Marco Rubio (R–FL), J.D. Vance (R–OH), and Ron DeSantis (R–FL) are among those said to be on Trump’s short list of potential vice presidential candidates, in addition to Gabbard.
Gabbard turned down an opportunity to run as Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s vice presidential candidate earlier this month. Kennedy is an independent seeking the presidency.
The selection of attorney Nicole Shanahan as Kennedy’s vice presidential candidate was revealed in March.
