Austin, TX – The killer who murdered three people at an apartment Sunday morning has been tentatively identified as an ex-cop who was charged last year with sexually assaulting a child.
The shooting occurred in the 9300 block of Great Hills Trail at an apartment complex at around 11:42 a.m., according to KXAN.
Authorities initially said that the incident was an “active shooting” but later said that three people were murdered in a domestic situation, according to CBS Austin.
The victims were described as two adult Hispanic females and an adult black male.
Police identified the suspect at 41-year-old Stephen Nicholas Broderick.
Broderick remains at large, should be considered armed and dangerous, and police are concerned that he may take hostages while fleeing.
Broderick is described as a black male, 5’7″, and an average build. He was last seen wearing a baseball cap, sunglasses, and grey hoodie.
The suspect is a former Travis County Sheriff’s Office detective who was charged last June with first-degree felony sexual assault of a child.
