When you move to Japan, it’s important to understand that fitting into the local culture is key. While the Japanese won’t harm you, they will not fully accept you if you don’t follow their norms. It’s like following the rules of any group you join. And if you break those rules, there are consequences.
Unfortunately, in the West, it seems like newcomers are allowed to behave however they want without consequences.
