A high speed chase from Pittsburgh into Ohio Tuesday night ended with the recovery of a missing Pennysylvania girl and the arrest of the man she was with.
The 14-year-old girl was last seen in New Castle at about 8:30 p.m. and was reported as missing and endangered. She was reported to be with John Wolfe, 20, in a tan 1999 Toyota Avalon with Pennsylvania plate LYK-3348.
That car was spotted later on in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood, about 50 miles from New Castle, and police began a pursuit the led to the Ohio state line, where the Ohio State Patrol picked up the chase.
Speeds reached 100 miles per hour along the highway, and troopers lost sight of the car. The vehicle was later found abandoned in Portage County, just outside Akron.
Police located the missing girl and Wolfe walking nearby. He was arrested.
