Ranchos Palos Verdes, CA – Firefighters had to extract Tiger Woods from a wrecked vehicle on Tuesday morning after the professional golfer rolled an SUV on a California hillside.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials said the single-vehicle crash occurred at about 7:12 a.m. on Feb. 23 on the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes,” TMZ reported.
Sheriff’s department officials said Woods was traveling northbound on Hawthorne Boulevard near Blackhorse Road when he crashed.
The vehicle appeared to have rolled over multiple times and left a debris field of more than 500 feet, KTTV reported.
It appeared the car went over the highway median and across two more lanes of the road before it landed on its side up a hill.
KTTV measured the distance the car went from where the crash started to where the vehicle landed at about 476 feet using technology from their news helicopter.
“Mr. Woods was extricated from the wreck with the ‘jaws of life’ by Los Angeles County firefighters and paramedics, then transported to a local hospital by ambulance for his injuries,” the sheriff’s department said.
