DoJ investigates Alex Jones, Roger Stone, Ali Alexander over potential ties to Capitol rioters

An anonymous U.S. official and others allegedly told the Washington Post that Infowars founder and director Alex Jones, political pundit and former presidential adviser Roger Stone, and Stop the Steal rally organizer Ali Alexander are currently being investigated by the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation for potential ties to rioters who laid siege to the U.S. Capitol on 6 Jan.

Accusations in the report claim that Jones and Stone were “key figures in the riot and those who promoted former President Donald Trump’s false assertions that the election was stolen.”

“We are investigating potential ties between those physically involved in the attack on the Capitol and individuals who may have influenced them, such as Roger Stone, Alex Jones and [Stop the Steal organizer] Ali Alexander,” the unnamed official told the D.C.-based daily newspaper.

The piece authored by Spencer Hsu and Devlin Barrett suggests that both Jones and Stone are “frequent purveyors of conspiracy theories.”

According to the report: “Stone and Jones helped promote Trump’s false reelection fraud claims and earlier rallies in Washington and participated in pro-Trump events Jan. 5 and Jan. 6, but each has denied intending anything beyond peaceful protest.”

Will the DoJ and FBI under the Biden Administration use archived recordings and video footage of Jones, Stone, and Alexander to further suppress freedom of speech in America, or is it all just political rhetoric?
