A Michigan Catholic bishop has slammed “stupid” President Joe Biden over his unconscionably “progressive” political views that betray his alleged Catholicism.
Delivering a sermon/lecture at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption in Saginaw on Apr. 5th, Bishop Robert Gruss of the Diocese of Saginaw argued that the president simply doesn’t understand Catholicism.
“I don’t have any anger towards the president,” he said. “I feel sorry for him. I’m not angry at him. He’s just stupid. It’s not stupidity in the derogatory way; it’s stupidity in the sense of […] he doesn’t understand the Catholic faith.”
Ergo why the president has eagerly embraced everything and anything opposite of Catholicism, including abortion, transgenderism, and more.
Gruss’ whole sermon may be heard below:
That being said, Gruss did urge others to forgive Biden and confess their boiling anger toward him.
“If you’re harboring bad, negative, resentful feelings towards our president, you’re not free,” he said. “Otherwise, you’re letting him control you and your thoughts and your words and your actions. And I guarantee that if he is a problem for you, then those thoughts, words, and actions are negative — they’re gonna come out and then we commit sin. That’s what sin is.”
“How many times have you confessed your anger towards the president? I’m serious. I’m not kidding. If you have it, you should be confessing it. Otherwise, you’re not free,” he added.
The blunt remarks evidently prompted backlash, to which Gruss responded with a statement backtracking a little.
“In a recent talk on Forgiveness and Unforgiveness, my comments about the president of the United States were taken out of context,” he said. “I was speaking in the context of forgiving the president and any people in government who offend us by their words and actions – that we cannot harbor resentment toward them because in doing so, it would be sinful. We must forgive them if we are to be free. You can find the whole talk online to understand what was really said.”
“I used the word ‘stupid’ in reference to President Biden, recognizing that it was poor judgment in my choice of words. It was not meant to be disparaging, and I apologize. I will continue to pray for the president and all political leaders, that they may seek and be guided by the Spirit of Truth. I encourage people of all faiths and goodwill to pray for our great nation,” he added.

This isn’t the first time Catholic priests/bishops have come after the very unCatholic-like president.
In 2021, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops voted to advance an effort to deny the president Communion over his support for abortion.
“The bishops voted 168-55 in favor of drafting ‘a formal statement on the meaning of the Eucharist in the life of the Church,’” NPR reported at the time.
One of the bishops, Bishop Liam Cary of the Diocese of Baker in Oregon, described Biden’s backwards Catholicism as “unprecedented.”
“We’ve never had a situation like this where the executive is a Catholic president opposed to the teaching of the church,” he said.
“This is a Catholic president that’s doing the most aggressive thing we’ve ever seen in terms of this attack on life when it’s most innocent,” Archbishop Joseph Naumann of Kansas City, who leads the bishops’ Committee on Pro-Life Activities, added.
All this comes weeks after the Vatican released a declaration affirming its staunch opposition to transgenderism and other left-wing concepts. In response, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stressed the president’s personal support for transgenderism.
“[T]he President will continue to be an advocate for the rights, safety, and dignity of the LGBTQ+ community, including transgender people, here in the U.S. — and not just here in the U.S. but also around the world,” she said, according to a transcript.
Everyday Catholics were not pleased.
“He is not in line with the Church’s teachings, and he knows it, they know it, and I think they’re proud of it,” Meg Kilgannon, a Catholic and senior fellow for education studies at the Family Research Council, told Fox News at the time.
As one of many other examples, she pointed to the president’s changing position on the Hyde Amendment, a federal rule that prohibits taxpayer money from funding abortions.
“Biden was in favor of the rule for decades, arguing in 2007 that allowing such payments forcibly imposes a contrary view on the issue for pro-life Americans,” Fox News notes. “Biden abandoned that position in 2019, however, and his 2021 budget proposal did not include the provision.”
