Department for Culture, Media, and Sport – Board Members of the Sports Ground Safety Authority (x2)
“The SGSA (formerly the Football Licensing Authority) is the UK Government’s regulatory Board for Premier League, Football League and Wembley Stadium as well having oversight of relevant local authorities. It is the government’s expert body on spectator safety at sports grounds. Set up after the Hillsborough disaster of 1989, its purpose is to ensure sports grounds are safe for everyone. Every weekend it helps millions of people enjoy watching football and other sports in a safe and secure environment. To achieve this, it works with the 92 football clubs in the Premier League and the Football League, Wembley Stadium and Principality Stadium, as well as local authorities, the Premier League, the Football League and the Football Association to ensure spectator safety is prioritized. It writes guidance, including the Guide to Safety at Sports Grounds (“the Green Guide”) now in its 6th edition, and carries out a range of statutory functions in relation to football in England and Wales and advisory functions in relation to other sports both within the UK and internationally.”

Department for Culture, Media, and Sport – Chair of the Independent Football Regulator
“The Chair of the IFR will oversee the initial setting up of the Regulator, including recruiting the CEO, as well as sitting on the Panel for other Ministerial non-executive appointments to the Board. They will also be responsible for ensuring the IFR has the resources it needs to effectively and efficiently discharge its functions and duties. The Chair will then be responsible for leading the Board in ensuring the IFR effectively fulfils its statutory objectives as well as maintaining and developing strong relationships with government, Parliament, football bodies and other major stakeholders. The aim is to have a Chair in place by summer 2024, appointed initially as Chair designate, and formally taking up the role when the Bill receives Royal Assent.”

Department for Culture, Media, and Sport – National Museums Liverpool Chair
“National Museums Liverpool (NML) is the only national museum service in England based wholly outside London. We manage internationally recognised museums and art galleries, including World Museum, Walker Art Gallery and Museum of Liverpool, which between them attracted more than three million visitors a year before Covid and we plan to get back there or beyond in the next three years. The range of the collections is immense, including archaeology, fine and decorative art, science, slavery natural history and social history. Reflecting this, approximately 50% of NML’s visitors come from outside Merseyside. “
Time: 20 day(s) per month. 4 year term.
Remuneration: You can claim reimbursement for reasonable travel and subsistence costs which are properly and necessarily incurred on official business, in line with the travel and subsistence policy and rates for the organisation to which you are applying. However these payments are taxable as earnings and will be subject to tax and national insurance, both of which will be deducted at source under PAYE before you are paid.
