Statement from President Price on Immigration Directive (Study)

We’re deeply involved concerning the Administration’s new immigration directive that can restrict the power of certified college students and students to start or proceed their research in america.  It is a misguided effort that can solely hurt gifted younger folks and the universities and universities which might be very important to our society. 

Yearly, hundreds of scholars come to Duke from world wide to study, conduct analysis, and participate in campus life. On this unsure second, we’re dedicated to offering our worldwide college students the chance to start and full their training at Duke — as a result of we consider that it aligns with our mission to coach leaders for the worldwide group, as a result of we acknowledge the vitality {that a} variety of views and backgrounds brings to our campus, and since we search to foster a welcoming group of learners that displays the shared challenges and aspirations our more and more related world. 

We are going to proceed to help our worldwide college students by these difficult instances, and can work with the upper training group to advocate for insurance policies that open doorways, not shut them.
