Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-California) gritted her teeth as she railed at the MSNBC host for pointing out mistakes in her data on Joe Biden’s bloated employment rate.
Pelosi, now an insignificant lawmaker, made it to headlines again as she attempted to smear Donald Trump’s record of job losses, which occurred in the middle of a global pandemic.
A rabid attack dog for the left, the California lawmaker also misrepresented Biden’s “growth” numbers, which are jobs that practically resumed from the COVID pandemic.
“Now on the ballot saying he should have immunity from whatever he might do, I mean, really, I have sympathy and respect for everybody who votes. I’m just glad people vote. I know some of them will never, will always reject those of us who might look different to them in leadership and the rest, and that’s that. But there are those who have real legitimate concerns about immigration, globalization, innovation, and what that means to their job and their family’s future. And we have to address those concerns. And Joe Biden is doing that. [He] created 9 million jobs in his term in office.”
“Donald Trump has the worst record of job loss of any president. So we just have to make sure people know,” Pelosi grumbled on the “Katy Tur Report.”
Tur responded, “That was a global pandemic.”
That was when Pelosi snapped and jabbed her hand in Tur’s direction, “He had the worst record of any president.”
“We’ve had other concerns in our country. If you want to be an apologist for Donald Trump, that may be your role, but it ain’t mine.”
The host then snapped back and said, “I don’t think that anybody can accuse me of that.”
The former house speaker claims that the economy during the Trump administration was the worst; however, a year before the pandemic hit, median household incomes jumped, while poverty (10.5 percent) and the unemployment rate were at a 50-year low.
Additionally, despite a slowdown during the first half of 2020, Trump’s economy sees a rebound during the third quarter of 2020, according to the Conference Board.
On the contrary, under Biden’s leadership, America has been exhibiting signs of stagflation, where growth dropped and prices continued to rise.
In research conducted by 538 and PerryUndem, a nonpartisan research firm, the majority of its 16 respondents remarked that they felt they’d been better off financially four years ago during Trump’s presidency, than today. Most of them cite the cost of living, which includes the soaring prices of goods and gasoline, as well as the costs of housing and education.
Furthermore, in the first quarter of 2024, US annual economic growth was only 1.6 percent.
In addition to this, Pelosi’s accusation against Tur turned out funnily, as MSNBC was often branded as state media for the Democrats.
