Newly released footage of an alleged 2016 assault had one former investigator suggesting a federal case against Sean “Diddy” Combs could be on the fast track.
“This is gonna hurt him badly…”

Nearly two months after federal agents raided the Los Angeles, California and Miami, Florida homes of the 54-year-old hip-hop mogul as part of a Department of Homeland Security crackdown on sex trafficking, video obtained by CNN furthered the credibility of allegations of abuse brought against the entertainer.
The March 2016 video appeared to show Combs, dressed in only socks with a towel around his waist, pursuing then-girlfriend Cassie Ventura as she left a room at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles.
No sooner had the towel-clad man been seen catching up to the woman waiting at the elevator, he could be seen grabbing her and throwing her toward the ground before aiming multiple kicks at the victim. A moment later, the man appeared to attempt to drag the woman back to the hotel room before heading away with her bags.
Upon his return, the man could be seen throwing something at the victim, corroborating a claim from an affidavit filed by Ventura that said a screaming Combs had pursued her, “grabbed at her, and then took glass vases in the hallway and threw them at her, causing glass to crash around them as she ran to the elevator to escape.”
“Everybody’s gonna see this, and they’re gonna see what a real dirtbag he is,” expressed Derrick Parker, a former investigator with NYPD’s rap intelligence unit, to Fox News Digital. “The public itself is gonna see him in a different light. The government now is likely gonna accelerate his case.”
Parker had previously worked on a 1999 investigation into a nightclub shooting for which Combs had been acquitted and further argued to the outlet amid the ongoing legal troubles of the mogul, “This video is very damaging to his case.”
“This is gonna hurt him badly, because it adds credence to what Ms. Ventura has been alleging about the abuse from him,” added the former investigator who suggested to Fox News Digital that federal RICO (racketeering) charges would be brought against Combs before Independence Day.
As had been covered, the raids of the rapper’s properties had come months after he had settled out of court with Ventura regarding her suit brought under the New York Adult Survivors Act. Details of the March 2016 incident further contended, “Mr. Combs became extremely intoxicated and punched Ms. Ventura in the face, giving her a black eye,” before the alleged attack evidenced by the surveillance footage.
“The gut-wrenching video has only further confirmed the disturbing and predatory behavior of Mr. Combs. Words cannot express the courage and fortitude that Ms. Ventura has shown in coming forward to bring this to light,” said her attorney Douglas H. Wigdor to CNN.
Ventura’s settlement hadn’t prevented three other suits to be brought against Combs in the Southern District of New York and Parker suggested to Fox News Digital that it would hurt any defense the entertainer would have regarding the raids of his property.
“It makes him look like a liar, because he said all these things are false allegations against me,” the former investigator argued. “You can’t clear your name over that, kicking her and dragging her and slapping her.”
While Parker went on to suggest Ventura could be subpoenaed in a potential federal case brought against Combs where she would be questioned over rape allegations along with claims that the mogul routinely hired prostitutes, forced her to carry his gun during drug purchases and even blew up another man’s car, his former bodyguard Gene Deal had suggested possible criminal conspiracy went beyond celebrities.
“He had politicians in there, he had princes, he also had a couple of preachers in there,” Deal had told Page Six in April.
