REPORT: Omar lashes out in Twitter rant after Nadler criticizes her for sharing controversial cartoon

WASHINGTONEXAMINER.COM:

Freshman Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar appeared to push back against House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler’s comments that seemed to place her on par with President Trump in espousing anti-Semitic rhetoric.

Omar made her frustrations known in a series of tweets Friday afternoon, saying that “it is sickening to watch people make false equivalences between the open bigotry and hatred of this President and progressives.”

The article goes on to state the following:

The Minnesota Democrat appeared to be responding to Nadler’s tweet a day earlier in which he denounced Trump and Omar for their demagogic comments that some see as a promotion of anti-Semitism throughout the country.

Nadler had criticized Omar and Rep. Rashida Tlaib for sharing the following cartoon.

Omar blasted out the following Twitter rant on Friday, pushing back against Nadler’s criticism:

She turn the whole thing on Trump, writing:

Donald Trump has spent his whole life targeting minorities communities—promoting hate against black, alien, Muslim, Latinx, women, people with disabilities and Jewish-Americans.

He seeks to undermine the American project of multiracial democracy and pit us against each other at every turn. And the Republican Party is allowing it.

Then Omar appeared to address Nadler’s criticism, tweeting:

That’s why it is sickening to watch people make false equivalences between the open bigotry and hatred of this President and progressives.

Omar concluded her remarks with another swipe at Nadler:

But now is not the time for false equivalences. Our president is attacking basic values of religious pluralism. You are either serious about protecting religious minorities of all stripes or you are not serious about any.
