TRUMP TWEETS: Congratulated Koepka, reached out to farmers and shared an OpEd

A trio of tweets from President Donald J. Trump on Sunday night covered sports, agriculture and an OpEd.

“A great win for Brooks. Congratulations to a great champion!” Trump tweeted. He was referring to Brooks Koepka who won the 2019 PGA Championship.

“The defending champion at the event, Koepka won his second straight PGA Championship and becomes the first golfer in history to hold consecutive titles at two different major championships simultaneously, the other being the U.S. Open,” CBS Sports reported (video below).

Next, Trump had a message for farmers.

“Starting Monday, our great Farmers can begin doing business again with Mexico and Canada,” tweeted the president. “They have both taken the tariff penalties off of your great agricultural product. Please be sure that you are treated fairly. Any complaints should immediately go to @SecretarySonny Perdue!”

Finally, Trump tweeted about an OpEd by Washington Examiner contributor Byron York. York wrote, in part:

“From now on, the Trump-Russia affair, the investigation that dominated the first years of Donald Trump’s presidency, will be divided into two parts: before and after the release of the Mueller report.

“Before the special counsel’s findings were made public last month, the president’s adversaries were on the offensive. Now, they are playing defense.

“The change is due to one simple fact: Mueller could not establish that there was a conspiracy or coordination between Russia and the Trump campaign to fix the 2016 election.”

Trump tweeted a link to the OpEd, captioned, “The Mainstream Media hates to cover this!”
