Liberals are having a meltdown on social media after a Republican senator offered a suggestion on how fed-up motorists should deal with protesters blocking the highways.
Pro-Palestine activists went on a rampage across the United States Monday, shutting down major highways, bridges and airport entrances for hours. The protesters were allowed to just sit in the roadway, blocking traffic, and creating a major nightmare for commuters.
Republican Senator Tom Cotton of Arkansas wrote on his personal X/Twitter account Monday evening, “I encourage people who get stuck behind the pro-Hamas mobs blocking traffic: take matters into your own hands to get them out of the way. It’s time to put an end to this nonsense.”

Cotton doubled down Tuesday morning, as he re-posted a video found on social media of protesters blocking the streets in Europe.
In the video, fed-up drivers are seen getting out of their vehicles, and literally dragging the protesters off the street. The men were seen grabbing the protesters by their shirt collar or their feet and unceremoniously dumping them by the curb.
“How it should be done,” Cotton wrote, sharing the video.

Cotton tripled down with his outraged against the people blocking highways and bridges in a Fox News interview, saying if that happened in Arkansas, some of them might be thrown off the bridge into the water, and if they had their hands glued or cemented to the pavement, they might just get their skin ripped off in the process of getting them off the road.
“These pro-Hamas extremists blocking roads across the country are Joe Biden’s base. I feel for those with health emergencies, kids, and places to be who are stuck in traffic because of these criminals,” Cotton wrote.

Journalist Ian Miles Cheong agreed, writing, “Americans have been trained to become sheep, too afraid to lay their hands on anyone else. All this road blocking nonsense (regardless of their political motives) just doesn’t happen in many countries because people will just deal with the protesters themselves.”

Liberals on social media are having a conniption fit over Cotton’s remarks, accusing him of promoting violence, encouraging terrorism, and other drastic actions which he never implied.
Others are asking Cotton if he’s going to pay the legal bills for those who follow his advice and then have charges filed against them.
“Advocating for Americans to engage in violence and commit bodily harm to others isn’t something you’d expect to hear from an American politician. You are a disgrace!” declared Mr. Glen Carroll.

“That’s assault and battery. You should be booted from the Senate!” Art Candee raged.

And the backlash continues….
Here’s a United States Senator, advocate of assault and battery. Nice Tom.

There should be an official complaint to the state bar regarding your incitement of violence.

When someone takes your advice in a blue state and gets arrested and charged with felony crimes, will you pay for their legal defense?
You are a senator. Use your power as one to pressure states and localities to fix their policies.

Nothing to see here, just a sitting U.S. senator calling for Americans he disagrees with to be run over and killed. Totally normal stuff.

@fbi This man is promoting violence against peaceful demonstrators.
— Pete LaPlace (@hothotcocoa05) April 16, 2024
So you’re encouraging terrorism?

Is that an incitement to violence?

Are you as a senator encouraging violence? there is truly no other way to interpret this right , how is this legal for you to do this?
— dara (@Daramgar) April 16, 2024
Are you going to fund the legal defenses of people who are arrested and charged with criminal offenses because of your advice?

Meanwhile, CJ Pearson had a suggestion for Cotton. He wrote, “I doubt Tom Cotton will be paying y’all’s legal bills so please don’t listen to this nonsense.”
“How about instead of trying to go viral, Senator, you pass a law that stiffens the penalties of those blocking said roads?”
