The White House suddenly claims, after years of acting otherwise, that it doesn’t support transgender surgery for minors.
“The administration does not support surgery for minors,” a White House spokesperson told Fox News on Wednesday.
In response to news that @SecretaryLevine of @HHSGov pressured @wpath to eliminate age minimums for gender surgeries, the White House has officially announced that it “does not support surgery for minors.”

Critics believe the move was designed to draw attention away from the previous week’s bombshell, which was that a transgender Biden administration had pressured the World Professional Association of Transgender Health (WPATH) to eliminate age requirements for transgender surgery.
“Email excerpts from members of [WPATH] recount how staff for Adm. Rachel Levine, assistant secretary for health at the Department of Health and Human Services and herself a transgender woman, urged them to drop the proposed limits from the group’s guidelines and apparently succeeded,” The New York Times reported.
One email to a WPATH member contained telling remarks from Sarah Boateng, who at the time served as Levine’s chief of staff.
“She [Levine] is confident, based on the rhetoric she is hearing in D.C., and from what we have already seen, that these specific listings of ages, under 18, will result in devastating legislation for trans care,” Boateng wrote in the email. “She wonders if the specific ages can be taken out.”
And so it was Levine, the notorious HHS assistant secretary who thinks he’s a woman, who’d pushed for the age requirement to be removed.
This is notable given his other controversies: questioning the importance of puberty, praising the use of Orwellian language like “egg producer,” claiming so-called climate change is racist, and of course masquerading as a hideously ugly woman.
Another email cited by the Times noted that Levine “was very concerned that having ages (mainly for surgery) will affect access to care for trans youth and maybe adults, too.”
“Apparently the situation in the U.S.A. is terrible and she and the Biden administration worried that having ages in the document will make matters worse. She asked us to remove them,” the email continues.
WPATH publishes a “standards of care” document from time to time, and the 2021 draft reportedly contained proposals for age-limiting certain transgender surgeries, be they hysterectomies or breast augmentation.
Yet the final 2022 version of the document didn’t contain any age limits. It’s notable that Levine didn’t assume his position at HHS until March of 2021, several months after President Joe Biden assumed office.
The latest White House statements puts the Biden administration at direct odds with not only many “progressive” Democrats but also President Joe Biden himself.
The president has repeatedly spoken out against states that have, one, sought to ban transgender surgery for minors, and two, at times investigated families for pursuing such surgery.
“In recent days, elected leaders in Texas have launched a cynical and dangerous campaign targeting transgender children and their parents,” the president said in March of 2022. “The Governor of Texas has directed state officials to open child abuse investigations into families simply because they have provided access to affirming care for their children.”
“This is government overreach at its worst. Like so many anti-transgender attacks proliferating in states across the country, the Governor’s actions callously threaten to harm children and their families just to score political points. These actions are terrifying many families in Texas and beyond. And they must stop,” he added.
But the statement only got worse — so much so that even some leftists found it troubling:
I agree that what Texas is doing re threats to parents of trans children is appalling. But this response – from the President no less! Is equally troubling.https://t.co/tOp87DsprB pic.twitter.com/zvZAPp89jj

“In the United States of America, we respect the rights and dignity of all families. Transgender children bring fulfillment to their parents, joy to their friends, and are made in the image of God,” the president said.
“Affirming a transgender child’s identity is one of the best things a parent, teacher, or doctor can do to help keep children from harm, and parents who love and affirm their children should be applauded and supported, not threatened, investigated, or stigmatized,” he concluded.
In other words, it’s imperative that parents cater to their “transgender” children’s delusions, even if that means chopping off the twig and berries …
Dovetailing back to the present, critics responded to the White House’s phony announcement by arguing that, if the administration is being truthful (which it’s not), then it should have no issues with future bans on transgender surgery for minors.
Look:
Since when? Today? Well this is great news. Now ALL 50 states can pass legislation banning surgery for minors. There should be NO issue for states like New Hampshire now, correct?

Exactly right. Every state that hasn’t banned these surgeries yet should do so in its upcoming legislative session. Every Democrat who supports gender surgeries for kids should be reminded that s/he is now in disagreement with the Biden administration.
