New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s Green New Deal is total bullhonkery. Why? C’mon, you’re going to make us spell it out? Okay, fine.
AOC wants to replace all airplane travel with high-speed rails that go all over the world. Do you have any idea what that would look like? Alright, go find a map of active airline routes. Take all of those lines and, in your mind, replace them with a high-speed rail track. The amount of infrastructure required would be greater in weight and volume than all of the existing major cities on Earth combined. All of that construction would require the use of machines that use fossil fuel.
Just imagine one rail across the Pacific Ocean. How many temporary bridges, how many ships, how much disposable scaffolding would it take to build it? Just close your eyes and imagine it. Now, ask yourself how the United States is supposed to do all that unilaterally, while all the other major countries of the world go on polluting as usual. It is madness.
Then, consider the fact that while doing all this, the government will give everyone a living wage — even those who refuse to do work. And it will create jobs for everyone who can’t get a job in the free market. Wonderful, magical jobs…
It’s like trying to build a coffee table out of playing cards and putting your tea set on it. It’s dumb. It’s so dumb, even ranking Democrats don’t like it.
Here’s Fox Business with the rest of the story.
