Here Are The Six Republicans Who Voted To End the Shutdown Without A Wall (Down From 12 Last Time)

Six House Republicans voted for a Democrat continuing resolution to re-open the federal government through February 1 without funding President Donald Trump’s border wall.

The measure proposed by New York Democrat Nita Lowey failed in the House, because it needed a 2/3 majority to make it to the Senate. Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is steadfast in his refusal to take up any bills that President Trump will not sign. President Trump has made it clear that he will not sign any bills that do not fund his Wall to the tune of $5.7 billion.

Democrats will try again Thursday with another vote on another time-wasting continuing resolution that will not become law.

Here are the six Republicans who betrayed President Trump:

  1. Will Hurd of Texas
  2. Jaime Herrera Beutler of Washington
  3. Chris Smith of New Jersey
  4. Elise Setefanik of New York
  5. John Katko of New York
  6. Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania

New York’s Peter King and others faced harsh scrutiny after they voted against the President last time the Democrats tried this. Here are the 12 Republicans who voted against Trump that time around:

  • Peter King of New York
  • Adam Kinzinger of Illinois
  • John Katko of New York
  • Will Hurd of Texas
  • Jaime Herrea Beutler of Washington
  • Elise Stefanik of New York
  • Steve Stivers of Ohio
  • Fred Upton of Michigan
  • Greg Walden of Oregon
  • Chris Smith of New Jersey
  • Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania
  • Rodney Davis of Illinois
