Gun Owners of America, alongside our friends at Great Lakes Gun Rights, is fighting to overturn Michigan’s dangerous and unconstitutional “Red Flag” law.
Representative Jim DeSana has introduced HB 4138, 4139, and 4140 to wipe this law off the books, and more than 20 Republican lawmakers have already signed on in support. Unfortunately, these bills are being stalled in the House Judiciary Committee, where leadership refuses to even allow a hearing.
Let’s be clear: Red Flag laws trample due process and turn innocent gun owners into criminals overnight. Every Republican in Lansing voted against this scheme when it passed in 2023 — and not one of them paid a political price for it. In fact, gun-grabbing Democrats were the ones who lost their seats.
So why are Republican leaders still dragging their feet?
It’s time to remind them that Michigan gun owners are watching and that we expect action. Please contact Judiciary Chair Sarah Lightner and Vice Chair Brian BeGole today and demand hearings on Rep. DeSana’s repeal bills.
This is our chance to start rolling back Governor Whitmer’s gun control agenda — but only if we apply enough pressure. GOA and Great Lakes Gun Rights are leading the charge, but we need every patriot in Michigan standing with us.
Together, we can force Lansing to act and put Red Flag laws where they belong — in the trash heap of history.
